I hope Splatoon 3 has a new villain so Splatoon doesn't repeat the same shit over and over ad nauseam like Mario and Zelda do.
I really liked how the villain of Octo Expansion was just a talking crazy-robot-old-pay-phone. It's something new and different. It's too bad there weren't more cutscenes and an actual story, but it's at least a baby step forward.

Splatoon is unironically my favorite game from the last decade that wasn't a sequel, remake, remaster, spin-off, port, or re-release.
In an era where adult gamers are getting fed rehashes of shit they enjoyed as children, Splatoon was a breath of fresh air as a truly enjoyable new IP, especially among Nintendo titles which have just rereleased shit like Mario, Zelda, Metroid and Pokemon ad infinitum over and over and over.
That and Splatoon is fucking fun. 4k 60fps Splatoon on CEMU is amazing.

Honestly, I really expected it to fail. It being a multiplayer shooter on the Wii U should have doomed it. Glad that wasn't the case.

5 million on the Wii U is pretty impressive. The only titles that sold more than it were Mario, Smash and Nintendo Land.

Splatoon honestly surprised the shit out of me. Never would have expected one of the most well designed shooters to come from fucking Nintendo of all companies.
It also popularized gyro aiming so that's cool.

I'm disappointed the new Xbox controller doesn't have gyro. I was hoping it would so shooters on all new consoles would eventually switch over to gyro aim. That simple change would bring console shooters a lot closer to PC shooters and help unify them.
