If gaming journalism wasn't a joke I'd say this is actually something that should be mandatory for these types of live service games. Often times now games that have been continually updated for years will end up being damn near totally different by the time support ends. I mean hell would you rate the TF2 of today the same as you might have back when it first came out?

Videogame journalists are just regular clickbait journalists that either got rejected by a regular journalism site or who saw the videogame market as an untapped opportunity and decided to bring "real" journalism to it. They don't like games, they don't even really play games. If anything they hate games and they definitely hate gamers. The only one I'd say has any credibility whatsoever is yahtzee, his opinions are often trash but at least he's someone that's somewhat passionate about games. But that's because he's pretty much just a youtuber recruited by a journo site.
