that is simply conjecture. not an argument.
he is an idiot.
To be fair, what genre should Uncharted, Order 1886, Quantum Break, and The Last of Us should be?
>whines nonstop about modern games being cancer
>specifically complains about third-person cover shooters
>loves gears of war
reminder that rich evans ragequit jedi outcast on the first level after getting killed by the weakest enemy in the game and forgetting to save
I like Rich but holy fuck I can't stand Jack. He's the most annoying faggot in the entire extended RLM family. I even like Canadian Mike & Jay more than him.
those are in the wrong medium. they should be sub-par movies, oh wait, they already are
He's fucking sick of Star Wars, can you blame him?
I was going to make a comment about how one of the most soulful games that was literally decried by it's developers for having too much effort put into it in terms of content and gameplay happened to be a third person shooter, but then I saw the picture was Aids Moby, who is awful at playing, talking about and understanding videogames and now I'm comfortable in my original plan to not watch the video since it's highly unlikely he will offer anything of substance.
I never watched PreRec, because it's just them incoherently complaining about games with no real frame of reference
>I'm not a fan of aspect x of game y, why didn't they just blatantly copy feature z from the only other game in this genre i've played instead
they have no chemistry with each other and made me realize how annoying Rich is and confirmed that Jack is a tag-along with no personality
That is absolutely how it works.
>“It seems to me, when I look at the way game design was done at Kojima Productions, the way it’s done at Capcom and Nintendo, the way I feel it’s being done at Platinum Games or From Software, I feel there’s a lot more importance and focus given to game mechanics over world, setting, story, message, all that stuff,” he explains.
>Amaro goes on to say that, in his experience, Western developers prioritize the scope, visuals, and features of a game as its selling point while Japanese developers tend to lead with mechanics.
>“For example, when we used to have Kojima Productions L.A.—we had an office in Los Angeles—we would get proposals for new games, pitches. It always started with: ‘This is the world you’re in. This is the experience I’m going to give you.’ And gameplay was relegated to page 5 or 6 or 10,” Amaro tells Glixel. “It was always about who you’re playing, who is the character, what’s going on, but not the ‘how,’ how am I playing this?”
>“In Japan, a pitch is a page, maybe two. The first page you write what the game is about and how you play it,” he continues. “And the second page, maybe you need an illustration. We don’t care about who, or what the story is, what the game world is, all of this doesn’t really matter.”

haa haa
hee hee
i make poopoos and peepees
aids moby has the worst opinions on videogames
he didn't even play no more heroes
And on tv shows and movies. Never forget that he watches all the horrible capeshit like Arrow, Flash and Supergirl, but doesn't like Farscape (his reasons are stupid, to no one's surprise.)
>aids moby
Josh and Culkin are worse.
I understand what he's getting at, but its hard to take him and Rich seriously as game critics. They tried to do a HITB dynamic but they don't know shit about game developing or coding (not that I do either lol but I'm not about to be a game critic).
acting like game critics know anything about game coding
More egregiously they just don't know shit about how games actually play and don't want to do any kind of proper analysis beyond the very surface level of things they already know because of how ill-informed and incapable they really are. The Sonic and Nioh videos are so characteristic of this.
They defended Adventure of Link. They're based.
True. But I'm comparing pre rec to HITB more than I am to trash like IGN. Mike and Jay actually are knowledgeable about filmmaking and practice it themselves. They don't just watch movies as a hobby.
Gaming was a hobby for Rich and Jack but not one they could give any kind of in depth analysis on because they had no experience.
>and practice it themselves.
LOL, that Space Cop shit they make is Channel Awesome tier.
Yes, he's 100% on point there. The third person shooter hasn't meaningfully evolved since Gears of War and it's the default when it comes to low effrot "cinematic" movie game's gameplay.
correct, the western approch seems to be appropriate for movies/television, while japan talks about the game
These fags have no credibility to talk about video games
Who needs credentials when all you're doing is spouting truth?
And this is why I will always prefer jap games
>The third person shooter hasn't meaningfully evolved since Gears of War.
You mean RE4?
Rich's Dark Souls stream was hysterical when Zig Forums crashed it. Everyone was screaming at him to use lightning paper because he couldn't clear Taurus demon. It got to the point he broke down and just repeated nonsense words in an angry fit.
None of those should be games at all. They're designed to be linear brainless single-use entertainment, therefore they should all just be movies.
No, Gears of War combined RE4 and Kill.Switch and that served as the basis for every third person shooter since.
Gears of War's focus IS the third person combat. It was specifically created to refine the groundwork that Kill Switch had created. The story, at least until Epic stopped making them games, was a complete afterthought.
cringe
>>loves gears of war
As he should, Gears of War was innovative and pushed the third person shooter forward mechanically unlike trash like Uncharted, The Last of Us, The Order 1886, et al.
Now how does he feel about Vanquish? Vanquish is the only game I can think of that build off Gears of War in a meaningful way, but seemingly no one fucking played it.
He has crippling diabetes, Of course he's always right.
Ive literally never had genuine fun with a third person shooter aside from vanquish and idk if that really counts they should just be movies
...
>Now how does he feel about Vanquish?
He actually loves Vanquish and did a whole video about it.
that game wasn't even bad. I think it just took people by surprise at the time because it was so different from its predecessor.
I never said their films were good, but that doesn't change the fact that their careers are based around filmmaking and editing.
Also, on a purely technical level, Space Cop is league's above channel awesome garbage. Those retards just shot in the local park.
et al. is used to describe people contributing to something, not generic "the list goes on"
use etc. and try not to embarrass yourself trying and failing not to sound like a retard in the future
I did in Gigantic.
RIP
You really did sound like a faggot with this post et al.
