Remasters always are good. Only contrarians who want to look unique and original disagree. But still play the remaster in secret. FFVIII remaster is beautiful.

Some of the earlier FF and Chrono Trigger mobile/PC ports were horrendous with their "remastered" sprite work, menus etc.
Chrono Trigger was so bad they listened to fan backlash and gave you the option to switch to Original

Actually, the FFV and FFVI remaster is a lot better than the original. They are still awful remasters with lots of flaws but at least they are not fat 8 pixels characters and with mods you can fix everything.
But those new sprites are atrocious

Because they look simple? They are WAY better than the originals. Sure, it's like saying pee it's better than poo. But it's still a step up and what we've got, it's better than nothing, and quit complaining or Namura will hear you and he'll add time ghosts.
Sure it might not be your cup of tea, and you will try to bring your elitist "soul vs souless", but the truth is, better graphics, better game, and nostalgia brings nothing to the table.

Yeah obviously, that's all I'm saying. It's entirely subjective but to me the new sprites look far too blurred and don't mesh with the original intended look of the game. I don't like them.

WHat's wrong wih them? The only problem with the silent hill remaster was that it removed the fog in some areas.
They covered up Siren's bush in her summoning sequence, that's about it

Pretty funny they made a whole thing about it. When I was a kid, I just figured it was fur and she was a bird like creature.
What's funny is they didn't change her Triple Triad card where you can see everything
They didn't, that's a mod to improve on the textures, remove the blurry shit, give her the new canon outfi to all characters and you can pick Terra's hair color. She's blonde in canon now since they are mixing in game limitations with the art of Amano. Amano wanted her blonde (he wants everyone blonde though) but in game she looked just like Celes so they had to go for another color that still made her special (and FF hates redheads so they went for green).
In Dissidia, the CGI of FF6, some shitty mobile game, etc she's blonde. I think the only other place she has green hair besides from her in game model is World of Final Fantasy.

FF8 remaster is superior to the Original for one simple reason - you can set the game into 3x speed mode so drawing magic goes quicker
Anything that improves on graphics is good. The problem comes when it doesn't improve on graphics. Like AC3 remaster, it doesn't change textures or anything, it just gives a vibrant lightning without fixing bugs or anything. Walking Dead Remaster does the same but worse since they tried to change the tone of the game so it turns characters blue because... ANF is meant to be blue or something.
But those are not true remasters, but "we picture the game with another color now" or "Pls buy our game again".
I agree. Why did they even bother making such a disgusting game? Truly offensive. Disgusting gameplay. Disgusting atmosphere. Disgusting story. Disgusting characters. As far as I'm concerned FF8 doesn't exist. It was a canceled and forgotten title.
