You've got ten seconds to tell me your favorite level from Deus Ex before I add you to the list of NSF casualties

Area 51

Why you are locked in the bathroom

Hong Kong.

Hong Kong like 90% of the other people that played it.

Hong Kong I guess. Last good area before the game nose dives into shit.

Paris, minus the catacombs

Hong Kong is the best area for that track alone. The Hong Kong music is one of my favorite video game songs full stop.

Enemy Within or Hong Kong

everything underwater

I'm playing it now because I thought it would be contemporary and I'm surprised how well this game plays even now once you get past some of its jank. Trying to play non lethal stealth was making me tear out my hair but playing as RoboCop going for silent headshots and slashing everyone else with raidens sword is unbelievably fun.

I like how wild it is compared to the reboot series, aliens and men in black and shit

Paris
Same here. But I like the whole thing.

Don't remember but I will always remember that scene where you talk with the terrorist on the jet and he convinces you to not kill him, as you walk out the doors another agent comes in and executes him.
Blew my underage mind.

madman

i'd say hell's kitchen

I only just found out you could kill Anna there and JC blames it on her being killed by NSF. this game truly does have something you learn everytime

they'll have you killed, they won't even blink an eye

I did that on my first playthough. Nearly died, too, but she sidestepped into the toilet nearby (I think, it was some small room) and I started chucking grenades inside.

On my current playhriugh I've been going full lethal and when I went to pick up my shit for the third or fourth mission the quartermaster wouldn't give me ammo because he thought my body count was sickening. I think it's right before the airfield mission. Cool detail

I took out both of them with rocket launcher. The level where Anna's partner intercepts you leaving metro(?) i think. You can blow him up before he even attacks.

The chateau

It's wild playing Deus ex as an adult vs as a child
Unatco being the bad guys blew my mind as a kid but playing it now that first conversation with the terrorist on liberty island is so blatant. The fact that Unatco guns down all the remaining nsf, even ones you knocked unconscious got me hard

you talking to me?

>we will never get a complete remake with all the cut stuff from the design documents

Feels really bad.
I want to go to the moonbase and have smug conversations with the AI there.

lol on every subsequent playthough I can't resist planting a LAM on the wall of the plane before I meet him

Lebedev's airfield.

i'll show everyone who laughed at me for putting points in swimming

I don't know didn't play it

The cathedral, finding the alternate route to the second building what dope af. I love immsims

>regenerate aug heals faster than you recieve damage from drowning even on level 1

I will continue to laugh at you.

cairo in invisible war

If there was ever a game that needed a full HD remake it's Deus Ex. The reboots are good but I can't even imagine how kino the original in HD would be.

The Cathedral is the correct answer. Hong Kong is the best part of the game, but I don't think hubs should count as levels.
youtube.com/watch?v=mF_ih1V9ZP8

Hong Kong as a whole is absolutely kino.

Don't care about graphics, I want a remake that restores all cut content.
They only shipped 1/3 of what they wanted to make.

They'd fuck it up, dude. There's no way a modern remake would have Deus Ex's mobility options, they'd make it a syrupy, slow-controlling console-led thing like all the other modern games quasi-RPGs seem to be.

The catacombs is the single greatest level in any video game ever

UNATCO, Hell's Kitchen, everything in Hong Kong, Hell's Kitchen 3

I said in another deus ex thread I wish there was an option to stay loyal to UNATCO as an alternative playthrough

JC is 23. What 23 years old has wrinkles like that?

This was one of the cut things.
You also could have joined bob page.

>First time doing the airport level
>Kill Annette but get my legs broken in the process
>Have to crawl the whole rest of the way
Wasn't even annoying really. Was more neat than anything.

>There's no way a modern remake would have Deus Ex's mobility options
The only thing the modern DX games don't have that the original does is swimming, and literally everything else is actually an upgrade.

Someone who was grown in a lab and pumped full of nano machines.

>joining page and simmons if you don't kill him
>killing paul yourself
kino

I love Human Revolution, probably one of the best games of the last generation but it's not as complex as Deus Ex, just a fact. Doesn't even have skills

His body is augmented.

I was specifically addressing mobility options. They're more advanced in Mankind Divided than in any of the previous games. I agree that not having skills is shit because builds are actually balanced in the original. You literally can't become a master of multiple fields and that's how RPGs should work.

Oh sorry mate my reading comprehension is shit

>everything else is actually an upgrade
>look at that adam, a grill. A girl!!!! Girls talking to you. Yeah, adam, they are soft, soft voice, weak and ai and shit, every gorll. Girls, Adam, girls.
It's almost a fucking dating sim with ugly girls. Lame as fuck. Only Malik is okay.

Hong Kong or Hells Kitchen. The urban areas were the best, its a shame they stopped appearing at the end of the game.
