One of Monolith Soft’s best titles. Played it on release. Loved it. Logged 120 hours playing it. Loved the callbacks to Xenogears. Most skells names and designs direct from Xenogears. Weltall is based on and looks like Weltall. Great graphics. Seamless world. The only problem with the game is it was released on the Wii U. Monolith Soft said it’d be a huge undertaking to port over to the Switch. I hope some day you guys will be able to play this hidden gem. It was great overall. Customization of parties, gear, everything. I want to know what happens next too and want a sequel damnit! Even the online modes were engaging! I appreciate Xenoblade Chronicles definitive edition being released but X has that gritty feel and managed to throw our world into the mix.

Unlocked the Skells then stopped playing. Way more boring than the ground combat.
Forgot to mention every single side quest had cut scenes and full voice acting. And there were a ton of side stories and side quests. Monolith Soft goes the extra mile for their games for sure.
I didn’t mind the skells. You actually can make your human character powered up in a way to not even need the skell. If I had to criticize anything, it’d be that flying ruined the immersiveness of Mira. I hate when open world games introduce flying mechanics. It makes the world a lot smaller.
>Monolith Soft goes the extra mile for their games for sure.
Not for remasters for sure.
Graphics fetish fag confirmed.
I was playing Xenoblade X on Cemu these days and something I saw made me confused
So I'm currently at chapter 7 and already know everyone is a robot but when I was walking around in NLA I found a bald woman fighting with a nopon because the nopon sold her a shampoo or whatever that made her hair fall, but isn't that woman's body just a robot body? How would her hair simply fall? And can't she just get it fixed like with my character's arm? That got me thinking that either mimeosomes work extremely similar to human bodies, it's a "plothole" since it's just meant for comedic purposes, or maybe it's some foreshadowing about what's really happening in Mira
Either way, it was weird and I can't take that out of my head
X's biggest flaw is the no autosaving while exploration
I agree, I hate using my Skell and only do when I need to kill some tougher enemies
Mimeosomes are partly biological, you get to see how close to human biology it is near to or for some people AT the end of the game
mimeosome bodies are extremely similar to human bodies, so they can forget about it.
It doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
HELLO
IS THIS THING ON?
AM I ALL ALONE
IS THERE ANYONE THERE???
I NEED A BIGGER GUN
I kinda wanna replay it since I didn't know what the fuck I was doing my first time playing, and I never really quite got the hang of it, unlike Xenoblade 2 where I figured out everything pretty quickly.
I think the entire point of the Mims is they wanted a robot that wouldn't require the human souls that inhabit it to have to adapt to a whole new body. It's why they're designed, at least externally, to replicate many of biological functions humans are used to in actual, biological bodies. It's why they're powered by food, it's why they produce poop, their nails grow, their hair grows... everything about them is meant to be as familiar as possible to a normal human body so the humans can deal with the more pressing matter of actually figuring out how to survive on whatever crazy world they end up landing on.
one of the best games ever made, period
>Even the online modes were engaging!
It's a good game, you don't have to lie about that. The online was just a cheap way to farm tickets.
This is one of my favorite games but it has it's flaws, seems rushed at times, and also clearly suffers from being on the Wii U. A quality switch port would be 10/10 and probably my number 1 game.
> clearly suffers from being on the Wii U. A quality switch port would be 10/10
I'd wait another gen. As much as I like definitive edition, sometimes I have to remind myself how the original looked to see a difference outside of character models. X needs quite a facelift.
You can always just play on Cemu, it's not that demanding
I honestly think it would look fine if it wasn't for the abysmal draw distance. Even if it's a thing in xenoblade games, it's far worse than the Chronicles 1.
Just about the only thing Cemu can do is run the game at 1080p 60fps, which while obviously an improvement, doesn't fix any of the actual issues with the game.
Also I can't get 60fps to run because the version I downloaded isn't fully updated and I can't figure out how to update it
I feel like NLA greatly emphasizes the graphical shortcomings of X. The game doesn't look bad when you are out in the open, in fact it looks somehow better than many things that are TECHNICALLY better. The moment you step on NLA everything goes to shit. Everything is flat, blocky, poping in and out, LOD out the ass, lighting is non-existent, very low quality assets. The Wii U clearly had trouble streaming all that stuff so close together, and the switch is not really a big step forward in that regard. At most I expect enemies to load faster instead of attacking you 4 seconds after you stop on a skell ride.
The ending threw me for a loop.
So everyone’s bodies were already destroyed and the battle was all for naught. But the mimeosomes still function and can be remade. They really dropped a huge cliffhanger.
Is nobody going to talk about how L can communicate with the mimeosomes but is a native of Mira? Unlike the nopon who still unexplainably speak English, L is the only one of his kind on Mira. I suspect him to be a human form of a titan in a future title. L is the most interesting character to me but there’s so little to him you’re actually told. He’s just....sorta there out of nowhere.
Hai guise I’m a native of Mira. My name is L. Where are my people? I’unno.
Everyone: okay join us and we won’t ever question anything about you. Thx
L: happy to help for no reason at all
Like really? Someone explain L to me.
I don't know, but I know I love his Japanese voice
I can't find it, but I swear I remember there was an interview with Takahashi about X in which they intended L to have a more central role to the "There's something about this planet" shit, but they just didn't have the time or budget to go for it given their scope, so they just kinda left him on his own. I think there's some support to this in some model names & data files, but just by rearranging L'Cirufe, you can kinda infer they might've tried to pull some crazy Zanza shit at the end.
how the fuck do you play this?
?
there's no tutorials and no manual
You all realize
L, or L'cirufe (and anagram of "Lucifer"), the tall, demonic looking alien humanoid who inexplicably knows about humans as if from EONS of active existence, and the ONLY thing like him, while native to Mira, the oddly expanding, morphic planet that seems to sustain life even when killed in this sort of limbo...
...is the caretaker of what's essentially Hell? He's Satan, a fallen being, that takes interest in mortals. Especially those that inexplicably find themselves HERE, on Mira, literal moments after what 100% of every single being believes must have been their death event.
All 3 Xenoblades are fantastic
>1
Best story/tone and pacing
>X
Best exploration and side quests
>2
Best combat and music
I was in the middle of playing X on cemu but now I'm taking a break to go through DE. In many ways I still think X looks better, but the character models in DE look fantastic and outclass even XB2 imo.
He’s the blue devil to the red devil. His horns are in reverse too. More credence to him being more mysterious.
OP here. Believe it or not I played it on the Wii U on release. Shocking I know.
I love the game
I just wish there wasnt a "bad guys" alien race
Like the whole game should have been humans versus the planet's environment
The ticking clock was compelling enough
Keep the other aliens sure but ditch the sat morning cartoon villains
Wasn't there a theory that L and Elma are of the same race?
So did I. Well, not on release, but on the Wii U.
>sat morning cartoon villains
Welcome to the Xeno series.
I wish the game had more alien allies. All those playable characters and only two are aliens, neither of which from species that build civilization with you. A prone, orphean, even a manon would've been great.
It was trying to build off thematically from Xenosaga and Xenogears rather than Xenoblade Chronicles specifically. The inclusion of Skells showcases the developers still being upset at being fired.
Censored trash.
Level 60 is the max? That's not very high
Also how the fuck do I get more Storage probes? I have way more Miranium income than I can hold
>a theory
I'm sure there's one out there somewhere
Shame you couldn't get the Wrothians as allies
