lord of the ring

/thread

LoTR was the blueprint, but WH is the finished product.

Tetris

What lore does tetris have. You aren't allowed to bring up Forbidden Tetris

Witcher and pic related

too bad fatshark is the most incompetent developer on the planet
stupid fucking swedes

March of Chaos was good too desu

it's nice the sjws haven't destroyed it yet.

>Legacy of Kain
>Thief
>Divinity
>Tyranny
>Arcanum
>VTMB
Daam the more i think about it, it might be easier for me to think up franchises that have worse lore since there will be fewer of them.

>Thief
>Divinity
>Tyranny

ah, you like meme writing, gotcha. this thread isn't for you, sorry.

didn't play space marine so doesn't count either

I played DoW 1&2 and enjoyed them

Any franchise whose lore makes a million different caveats and exceptions to explain intrafaction battles is stupid. The lore only exists to facilitate gameplay. That's great for games, but it hurts the actual lore itself.

Ricochet

I didn't consider, I'm sorry.

Warframe

mario

lotr is really basic shit

Marior

Potato Children killed any chance of good lore. And DE's lore, what little of it exist anyway, was always shit. Player made stuff bretty gud at times.

I'm pretty sure that the Warhammer series has some of the worst lore I've read. Fun games though.

Have you guys ever read a Warhammer book? I did as something to talk about with a friend and that shit is legitimately written at like a third-grade reading level. It has the fucking prose of R.L. Stine. I really hope this isn't the best that vidya lore has to offer.

Frog Fractions

You forgot Inquisitor and Chaosbane

Warhammer's been around since the 80s and their licensed books are from contracted authors all over so of course there's gonna be some books that really play to the series' strengths while others are pretty lackluster. 40k has the same problem where one novel in a chronology can be beautifully written and original with the next being 300 pages of generic pulp genre fiction of space marines turning people into paste

The lore is designed to sell minis, it's fucking retarded how they have so many factions.

Not for long

I hate this shit. Injecting modern day politics into fantasy settings is dumb and ruins immersion. The type of people that enjoy this are literal sub room temp IQ brainlets that hork at their supposed self inserts.

GW employees are these people.
Its just a matter of time until betas like gav and zoomies are 100% of the staff and it goes to hell.

How do these people get employed? They have no valuable skills whatsoever.

Vermintide

gav has been around a while.
