I'd say a tie between this and REmake. RE4 was the more "important" game but REmake is probably the more perfect game. However RE4 is nearly a perfect game, besides the Island (which is not actually bad like people say, just doesn't quite compare to the rest of the game. RE5 feels like a game made entirely out of the Island segments and it shows, although that's still a good game too).

Yeah the first half of RE5 is actually dope.

It doesn't have the qualities of what make most Resident Evil games good, but it's still the best game in the series because of how great it is on its own merits. You might as well consider it a standalone game.

No. REmake 1 and 2 are better because they are consitent, after the village 4 isn't as good and the island would be universally reviled without the Regenerator and you all know it and theres no way its not cut in the REm4ke.

I liked the vast majority of the Resident evil franchise. 6 was the only one I didn't enjoy playing from the mainline series

Why do you believe that the Castle and Island aren't good? I hear this complaint a lot but it is never backed up by any reason except muh atmosphere. Naturally, the action will ramp up as the game progresses. It's always been that way for resident evil, let alone most games in general.

ok but for me? It's CV, the best fast-food jillsandwich.

It isn't memorable or fun. The entire village section you remember little things like "play theres a dude alone in this shack" or "theres some dudes sitting on a hill or bridge you can flash grenade" and the island has that shitty yellow truck section thats a generic 'elevator horde defense' but horizontally rather than vertically. Salvador, the barn, the car before the castle, the cabin, del lago, el gigante. The village is all the high points.

The Castle is good, but the Island is blatantly rushed. You can see in its mostly haphazard environmental assets, the half-assed enemy placement, the lack of new weapons, and the anticlimactic resolution for the Leon/Ashley infection plot.
