I will wait patiently.
Name a single scarier scene in any game
when you pass the two-hour mark in any game and realize it's fucking shit
Never played Silent Hill. More of an RE guy. Is that a boss fight?
No it's in a room, looking at you.
It just does nothing?
Replaying the Dead Space trilogy and I forgot how much they relied on jumpscares. It'd have been so much better if they scaled back a bit. Jumpscares are the cheapest way to get a scare, and they're used so often they have minimal effect on me now.
I have fond memories of this fearboner.
fpbp
Yes she just stares at you
I never learn.
this
Motherfucker
I think it depends on when you experienced something. There's stuff I experienced as a kid that I remember as fucking scary that fills me with a bit of apprehension on replays that probably wouldn't have the same effect if I had experienced it as an adult. I think Lisa Trevor and REmake as a whole is probably the scariest game I've played, along with the opening sequence of Silent Hill 1. A few parts of Ocarina and Majora's Mask really spooked the shit out of me as a kid too. I wish I could feel like that again when playing horror games, but I think I'm too jaded. Like I played through most of RE7 just stone faced and wondering when it'd make me feel like RE1 again, same with RE2make except for a few minutes when Mr. X showed up before I realized he gets hard countered my nades/flashes.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
The two-faced nature of a kind, loving mother-like figure, and the evil spiteful angry dragon legitimately scares me because I grew up with people like this. They lure you in with their kindness, then if you even so much as to question their decisions or disagree with them even on the smallest of technicalities they go completely insane against you and try to guilt you into thinking you're the one who's bad. You will learn Zig Forums that this is the type of person you should fear and avoid in life. These people occupy positions of power and authority over you and they all deserve to burn in hell and killed without hesitation.
Fuck. I laughed.
You can't see her when you're entering the room. You're just entering a random hospital room when BAM, camera change and she's right there, staring at you and breathing heavy. Not only do her eyes follow you around the room, they're trembling like a concussion victim.
Subtlest jump scare I've ever dealt with, if you can call it one.
I wish she'd suck on my Willy :)
I didn't realize concussion victims did that
if I pull out my penis what would she do
Got it
user, I like Edelgard as much as the next guy, but this isn't the thread for this.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHFUCK
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
What is this supposed to be?
Depends on how bad it is. It's why medical staff do the "Follow my finger" test after a serious injury, to see how in control of your eyes you are and how bad the damage is.
THE FALL BROKE YOUR FLASHLIGHT
A subway car, from Lost in Vivo
This part issn't scary at all. You need to navigate the bullshit hallway of wheelchairs to get here. For every intereating setpiece this game had, it had 3 terrible fucking gameplay elements. This competes for worst game in the franchise.
Lost in Vivo deserved so much more recognition. Though it's probably a good thing it remains relatively obscure.
There's so many points in it that just make my skin crawl without any enemies even present.
The ending of FF7R
>Jumpscares are the cheapest way to get a scare
In movies, sure but in videogames it isn't really cheap since you are forced to face the creatures and monsters yourself. In movies, they just have someone scary happen and then a second later it's either over or it was some random sound effect that had nothing to do with "jumpscare"
It's a bit mitigated by the fact that your dude is a total badass motherfucker.
kys
what game?
ALAN
Just poke the bitch in the eyes what is she going to do?
OH SHIT ITS A NIGGER AAAAAAAA
Plugging into the mind of the dying man in Observer.
Ohhhh that makes sense
DUSK. It's a throwback FPS that I really like a lot. Takes elements from Quake, Blood, and Redneck Rampage.
The Guardian Ape second phase is one of the only times I have been uncomfortable to play a video game. No jump scares. Just sheer terror.
