Wetmen are the blue lads with the big snippers, right? Seems the secret to beating them is rapidly alternating between standing and crouching attacks. When you get the warpspeed hair attack gel it's tough but with the right rhythm you can more or less consistently instagib them that way.

I haven't finished playing it yet. I tend to avoid these threads until I have. But I guess it's fucking Shantae, nothing to spoil.

Pirate's Curse is the best game, but they're all decent. The GBC game is pretty tough, but it's not a bad place to start either.

I assume wayforward made a good chunk of change making it apple exclusive first so they can have my money when it goes down in price

Pirate's Curse has the smoothest gameplay, and fairly shows off all the different characters so if you aren't used to them, you get to know them pretty quickly. The only downside is that no transformations, so it could take a bit longer to get used to them if you play the other games. For a lot of people it's the best Shantae game, and most people started with it since it came out around the kickstarter, IIRC.

Outside of that the first Shantae is still pretty good, despite its age, and I'll always stand by that. I personally never had an issue with the transformations there, the real issue is how small the screen is.

I am enjoying the game so far. May be a contender for best in the series. I still feel guilty for having to kill the Coral Siren though.

I'll try it, though that does seem right. I think that's how it was in earlier games, just hard to do when you whip so fast or try to use items

Not really. More like representation of how it must feel to do that quest. At least for to touch those things.
