Americans in this era of history were assimilating the new consumer/trendy culture brought up by the Industrial Revolution. The Victorian style was in, and the Americans who could afford it acted accordingly. These days, like a lot of things, we traded fashion for convenience, which has its ups and downs. A nice suit in public would make you look sharp, but it wouldn't be necessarily as functional as a pair of jeans. The style is nice though.

As fun as shitposting is, I can't help but be concerned that a lot of people like that commie cadet glamorize the "destruction of the opposition" interpreted by the Civil War generals. Men like Sherman and Lee were constantly quoted as saying that war is a terrible curse upon humanity. Lee said as much after the Battle of Fredericksburg, and Sherman said so during his march through the South. For me, I would consider myself on the Sherman side of the argument, but at least I can admit that war is Hell, just as Sherman did.

It's probably still a thing in New Order since BJ can get the ability to regen health from melee takedowns, and it's even called Vampire. Dude's licking blood off his knife. Way more than 1% though, so I guess his metabolism got better while in a coma for over a decade.

Compared to Doom and Quake, its definitely the most archaic out of all of them. Each id Software title had new features, gameplay and graphical, to showcase. While Wolf 3D is fun, it's definitely the most dated, especially after playing Quake so much (as I do). That's a big reason why RTCW is my favorite Wolfenstein game.

It's good to experience as the primordial soup of the FPS genre but you really gotta be able to tolerate the monotony.
That said if you can stick through it, Episode 2 and 3 are alright.
