Where's COD4?
There is literally nothing wrong with Bamham combat. It's fun in its own way.
Something happened in the mid-2000s that made video games feel permanently modern.
I don't see Dark Souls nor Modern Warfare.
Witcher 3 is a symptom of Ass Creed, you numpty.
Bamham combat makes sense if you're the Batman, other than that it makes game trivial
I think only Sleeping Dogs has good combat based on Arkham gameplay
based
Replace Assassin's Creed with Call of Duty 4 and Gone Home and you'd be getting close.
Old ass creed games are good casual fun, sorry you're such a faggot
Asscreed I can relate but why Batman? Because of the Bat vision? Other than that, the Arkham trilogy are great games.
how did assassins creed influence gaming in any way?
It's always funny to see people crying how Bamham combat is everywhere when half the games that use it are in the same franchise.
in what way?
The combat system, I think. Hollywood styled military FPS are the real problem though
Open world games and unnecessary side missions got a lot bigger because of it.
That game was shit.
Graphics to the detriment of other elements which make up a game ruined gaming. Also multiplatform games needing a single version for all platforms which caters to the most restrictive one ruined gaming.
Because no game can match how good it is?
Climb/Liberate outpost #139 to see what's around you
Is it canon to the comics that Batman is a professional figure skater?
What non Ubisoft games for this?
They're half the problem. Video games nowadays (as in, since 2015 and onward) have had the problem more-so where they rely so much on story that action, mechanics, and player agency take a back seat. The "muh military FPS" cliche has faded into the background. Now it's abunch of faggot-ass liberal cuck-shits jerking off to pseudo-emotional story-telling quick-time event games shove you along a predetermined path with a couple sporadic moments of actual gameplay before going back to being linear messes of cutscenes.
At least in COD you were actually playing them.
Close enough
That's an Ubi thing. I don't diversify my games much nowadays but I don't think other games borrowed much from that.
Also exclusively PC so that may change my perception.
*Do this, I don't even know how I wrote that.
Hmmm, now that you mention it, Naughty Dog is pretty fucking shit.
cute gay couple taking their adopted son out
Mad Max
huh I guess it really is just Ubisoft that does this
>At least in COD you were actually playing them.
Yeah, okay. Here's your final boss in 2009 bro
youtube.com
it was muh realism that caused it
I enjoyed it in Asylum and City but didn't want other games to start copying it. Assassins Creed, BamHam and Witcher 3 are the holy trinity of open world game cancer. Games like Ghost of Tsushima seem like a synthesis of these three games with a different skin and I expect the next console gen to be full of mediocre open world games that lift elements like counter-based combat and detective/witcher vision but with worse execution than the games that inspired them.
seethe tranny
Mad Max
Tomb Raider
Shadow of Mordor
This, devs in the west started to abandon the Saturday morning cartoon esthetics. Even sci-fi racers took a backseat which were everywhere in 2000.
With that shit combat? Nope.
Breath of the Wild
Add this one. Sure, metal gear was also really cinematic but it was still fun, the only good thing about TLOU is the multiplayer
Literally everywhere I see.
Nobody made developers rip off BAM HAM combat for a whole generation.
What's wrong with Witcher 3, again?
I hate the other games you listed but I found the The Witcher 3 refreshing and very well done. If you mean the collectables all over the map well you can just outright avoid them, they tried to make them a bit more fun by tying quests to them unless I'm missing something here.
Name 15 games that did.
Dark Souls is one of the best games of the decade. Keep crying infant. It reminded people that shite like Uncharted didn't have to be the norm. It took NES style game design like Ninja Gaiden and fused it with OOT.
Still more gameplay than 90% of Detroit, synth-nogs game.
Mad Max was great.
The Saboteur
there are maybe three batman clones and literally ZERO asscreed clones
dark souls is shit and popularized artificial difficulty
>woooow another ambush behind a doorway the level design is AMAZING
Metal Gear Solid and Halo ruined video games before those 2 games did.
I liked The Witcher 3 but I think due to its huge success it will have a negative influence on the industry and spawn a lot of inferior clones. CDProjekt is at least doing something different with their next game in terms of genre and mechanics but you just know half the AAA industry is going to be trying to imitate TW3 for the next decade and make mediocre action RPGs with a million quest markers but without the good writing to make you actually want to play the quests.
Middle Earth games
>Artificial difficulty.
Spotted the infant. Dark Souls was never difficult, nor is it unfair minus unfinished jank like Bed of Chaos. It's literally shit players who use that excuse. That doesn't excuse bad copycat developers. You can literally run past every mob in the game. You're bad at videogames. It's so interesting that these whiners only started bitching when the game came to PC, where you guys never played actually hard games like Ninja Gaiden Black or Godhand. You can't click your way out of it unlike your mobashit
Assassins Creed Origins and Odyssey are Witcher 3 ripoffs you pillock.
