Anything involving Oddworld.

King's Field is more standard dark fantasy and the plot while being minimal isn't really that obtuse. In Shadow Tower the setting is a lot more surreal, alien and dream-like. The plot is a lot more vague and cryptic (more than in any Soulsborne game as well). Shadow Tower Abyss seemingly had people from different worlds and eras visiting the Tower so your character could weild a magical katana in one hand and an AK-47 in the other. It also added some mechanics, so instead of just combat + exploration you had additionally some resource managment. There was durability, equip loads and instead of leveling up by fighing you increase statistics (kind of like TES I guess, though a lot more basic). It also had the cool gimmick of you being able to cut off each creature's limb which would make the behave or move differently.

thanks it sounds really interesting a shame it never came to the west.

Kenshi

The first one did, the second has an unofficial english patch. Sadly the manual isn't translated, I wouldn't be suprised if half of the plot was in there.

Try Shadow Tower on PS1

i also really like having fisical games, emulations just isint the same.

I completely forgot about Sacrifice. Thank you. I'm going to go download it now

Kenshi is an incredible game. Any similar games?

There is a free demo. You will play it ironically because you like posturing, and then you will quickly realize it is blinding light of God brilliant.

>You will play it ironically because you like posturing

there's nothing to hope to posture to in a nameless churned out furry autism spreadsheeter game

I was thinking of the form of posturing that is playing something specifically because nobody else would play it, although that's a rare and higher form.

The game is autism but it's also surprisingly elegant, since all you do in it is move.

that's not a higher form of posturing. that's being narcissistic to the point that you can't understand what could be perceived as in and out, respectable and non respectable. it's not a "higher" form, it's a reduced expression by an inferior organism.

posturing means you can't be autistic. you have to understand what you're posturing to.
