Also there's a case in Louisville where police officers entered a house not in uniform, didn't identify themselves as police officers, then shot the resident eight times, all the while the suspect they were looking for had been in their own jail all day. Those officers were not charged and they were not fired, not even put on desk duty.

You're in the force long enough in a major metropolitan area and it's gonna happen eventually.

That's fine, but in this case it makes no sense for the coroner to fudge the details, as throwing the cop under the bus would be the best case scenario for the city. The people already think the cops are corrupt murderers, so there really wouldn't be any reason for them to fake blood test results to save him when they're already charging him with murder. It would make more sense for them to just go "yeah he did it, book him boys."
