Why are SRPGs so difficult abd convoluted? Especially Disgaea
The only one I could ever beat was Utawarerumono, and that's for coombrains

>Difficult
>Disgaea
Have you even played Tactics Ogre, Front Mission, or Final Fantasy: Tactics yet?
Anyway, just try more. It's only doffocult in the sense that you need to be mindful of your unit compositions and how much punishment your units can take alongside ally and enemy range.
Left: SOUL
Right: soulless
What are SRPGs with proper challenge and good gameplay? I hate Disgaea where you just grind till you're at level 100000 and dealing a billion damage per hit
Mamatoto
Jagged Alliance 2
anything that isn't boomercore?
Tactics Ogre
Xcom
unironically yes
even watching someone try to play that game makes me feel like a brainlet
Mine as soon as I figure out how to code and shit, expect it to play similar to phantom brave with dungeons and variety monsters. They each get 5 moves the unlock as you level up shit will be cash. 2025 release
Devil Survivor
You think Disgaea is hard?
Grindy, sure.
Talk to me once you've played some Natural Doctrine.
Disgaea has a lot of mechanics but you don't even have to understand or use most of it because the AI is usually pretty braindead.
>What are SRPGs with proper challenge and good gameplay? I hate Disgaea where you just grind till you're at level 100000 and dealing a billion damage per hit
Autistically grinding like that is for post game stuff, you can play the game like normal and just use 10 units per map and not grind for the main story stuff. Disgaea is like Pokemon, where you can easily break it by just using one guy and since they get all the exp they shit on absolutely everything.
those are all trash and easy
real men play rondo
>One of the best SRPGs of all time
>boomercore
>makes me feel like a brainlet
Legit question, when did Zig Forums became so casual?
Rondo of swords is basically the hardest SRPG released in the last 15 years.
The fucking tutorial itself is a filter. You can EASILY fuck up the tutorial and be unable to win.
Tried playing Disgaea and i just couldnt stomach the slow gameplay. The only srpg i beat and enjoyed were the srw games that recently came to pc they're pretty easy too, even on hard
Is it hard for good reasons or is it just a grindy mess?
They're not, it's more a case of JRPGs being braindead easy and that audience then wanting to try something else.
Nigga, all SRPG greats are probably older than you at this point. You just gotta accept that or play inferior rehashes simply because they're more recent.
Try emulating Jeanne d'Arc. It's simple, straightforward and fun.
>Rondo of swords is basically the hardest SRPG released in the last 15 years.
>and that's for coombrains
But I heard it doesnt have hentai..
Also how the fuck you call disgaea convoluted? lmao
>reused assets on top of Disgaea PC version
what a joke
Battle for Westnoth
Wesnoth* rather.
How hard is this game, again?
I like advance war games. There's no grinding or unit customization so you can focus on the actual combat. The troops are merely pawns too so you can just send them to their doom without having to worry about keeping everyone alive. I wish more srpg are like this.
Play day of ruin for a more gritty plot. The main series feels too immature imo.
Advance Wars are TBS games not SRPGs. We get it; you had a GBA, played FE and AW and thought they were the same genre. It is now over a decade later and you need to stop posting Advance Wars in SRPG threads unless you want Panzer General fag to come and burn another whole in your ass.
I played Disgaea 1 complete for the first time blind recently and lost to homeboy in the first castle lol.
honestly I was gonna start a thread about what's the best Etrian Odyssey game to start with, but figured blobber weebs and strategy weebs might have some crossover. I've heard 3 or 4 are alright, thanks nerds.
Wesnoth is only fun if you're the type of person that can get a gambler's high, it's just repetitive for everyone else.
Play 4 first then 3 if you like it
Good reasons. It's a Fire Emblem-like with no chance for grinding. Also got a pretty good story with two story routes.
