I played P5 for free and found it to be incredibly fucking lacking. They put a fresh coat of paint over a dogshit formula started by Persona 3. 3 games and so many rereleases and cashgrabs later, they still can't beat the P2 duology in story.

I'd be less inclined to kick out their clay feet if only the gameplay made up for the shit writing. But it doesn't.
They even made a huge noise about the dungeons being more complex, but it really boils down to being able to become invisible by rubbing up against a vase or mashing X to cinematically hop through some rafters.
Best decision they made with 5 was going back to using SMT designs instead of the uninspired black blobs and flying cutlery.

Honestly xenobalde 1 while a good game has just as much tedium and bland moments as FFVII remake.
In essence the game is quite similar to a offline MMO at times.
And the combat while not bad is more or less just as bland as any MMO.
It simply got a high score because of the nintendo bonus.
Nintendo critics usually tend to gloss over negative things that other games on other systems would get criticized for.
Because apparently if the game is "ON THE GO and NINTENDO" it gets a bonus of usually 10 points higher than what it would normally get if it came to a PS4 or PC instead of a nitnedo system for instance.
