Just picked this badboy up after years of eyeballin it. Finally decided it was worth it on this free weekend and having a blast while getting my ass kicked. Reading books keeps killing me but I just can't turn away from the forbidden knowledge, and some fucking altar wanted to eat my torch and rewarded me with a buttfucking from a space creature or some shit. Good times. Also is Cove supposed to be way harder than other regions or am I just really unlucky/unprepared? Every cove expedition has ended in total disaster so far. Just got my first succesful one about an hour ago.

Play Radiant, makes the game much more enjoyable especially for a first timer. They say it speeds it up but my radiant playthrough is eclipsing 50 hours already.
Cove is my kryptonite too, a lot of people find it the easiest. The Weald is the hardest on Champion difficulty unrivalled but before that if you're too poor to afford antivenoms the warrens will rape you.

The easiest? Fuck. I only beat it because I ended up with like 3 people getting Eldritch Slayer quirk and just beasting them, plus not running into those big tank fishes with the octocestus. They always ruin my shit.
I only got 1 shieldbreaker so far and she fuckin died on her first mission, which was in the Cove ironically. Just now assembled an A-team of Resolve 2 heroes and beat the apprentice necromancer. B-team is well underway so I think I've finally managed to stabilize a bit. I lost a lot of people just throwing squads together willy-nilly but I'm actually planning out groups and ensuring they have a healer and actual mark target synergies etc. Working wonders.
