oh fuck yes I finally got it, master mode btw, it's great how powerful the terraprisma actually is but I'm a bit disappointed in the eventide bow, the tsunami still outclasses it by far with holy arrows in my experience, infinite flight accessory is pretty cool, the sword isn't the best or really practical to use, but damn is it fun to thrust that thing around at mach speed, haven't gotten the other weapon drops quite yet

I loved the challenge of the fight, but fuck all the random ass slime / zombie / possessed armor / werewolf spawns, that shit got me killed more often than I'd like to admit, even though I always made sure to always clean up the gravestones and setup sunflowers + peace candles in the arena those fuckers still appeared sometimes to ruin my day

is it possible to do fishron before plantera? or should i just go for plantera and him after?
i also finally got that mount from the pirate invasion
i had 4 tries and 2 bosses in each and dropped on the 8th boss
i wanted before the 3 mech bosses but got after now i don't even know if it has uses

fishron can be done at any point in hardmode I think, it gives great loot so go for it.

Just grapple the ceiling. The first time I encountered these I didn't even have a hook, but I learned how they worked and just attacked them from a platform/rope. They'll only hurt you if you get careless

Drills have reduced range, but mine faster as a baseline; they're not affected by mining speed buffs.
Pickaxes have extra range, but mine slower as a baseline; they're affected by mining speed buffs.
In an optimized environment, pickaxes outperform drills.

Never saw the point of drills, pickaxes always seemed faster imo

This is my second time playing and finishing terraria, but I remember that they key when I fought him was having a MASSIVE arena, that spanned horizontally and vertically.
That allowed me to dodge and deal damage consistenly, just get a bunch of worms and keep trying.

What's the arena setup for her, the usual rows of planks?

I used drills for a time, but I eventually settled for the top pickaxe.. There's also a tool out there that does the work of both pickaxe and hammer IIRC and it was a pain because I'd accidentally hammer the fuck out of my walls or some shit like that, which is why I settled with the best pickaxe.

Is there still a Pick/Hammer? I remember Hamdrax used to be all 3 but when they changed hammer functionality, they got rid of the Ham part.

really struggling to have fun with the game atm. i'm playing expert on a large world. i've hit the bottom of the world, and the far left and far right. so far in 25 hours i've found-

>no meteors (apparently they have good stuff? meteorite? sounds cool! pity NONE are on my map)

their hp. i have like 400 max hp and full gold armour and a cool tendon bow that does 22 ranged damage
i just don't get how i'm supposed to progress. i just found a bee boss and she just raped me completely by zooming past me and taking off half my health then just hit and running while i stand there like a retard. should i just quit and play normal? is a medium size world more fun? how the fuck can the game have seeds that spawn without crucial elements like iron or meteors? this game seems terrible balanced. are you just MEANT to take your character and start a fresh world every 20 hours and take a bunch of shit with you?

pretty much yeah, space out until you can barely see the next one on the top of your screen, 3-5 floors should do the trick, make sure it's quite wide too since you'll need it for her second phase, also on a semi related note, Rod of Discord is an absolute godsend for a lot of her later patterns

Are you on master mode or expert?
If it's your first time I'd recommend expert instead of master, the first boss you should go after is the Big Eyeball boss, which you can make a summon for at a demon/crimson altar in the corruption/crimson, be sure you have a boot item that lets you run super fast for this boss, it really helps

Make a Gold Crown and show it to the guide, Fight King Slime.

Build an Arena of Platforms to fight the Eye of Cthulu. Summon the Eye by using Lenses (show them to the Guide).

When the eye is beaten, you should get invaded by goblins. Fight off the goblins and when you are done with them, go into the caves and look for a trapped Goblin. Recruit him and take advantage of his services.

Go to your Corruption/Crimson. Descend down to find orbs. Smash 3 orbs to summon the next boss. You can use Bombs (demolitionist) or Powder (Dryad) to cleans the corruption and gain access to them.
Build Platform arenas in the clear spaces in the corruption centers.

Once you kill the Eater of World/Brain of Cthulu, your world can spawn meteors. Use drops from the bosses to make armor and weapons. Use meteorite to make weapons and armor.

Head to the Jungle next.

if you don't have iron, you probably have lead. they are mechanically the same.

if its your first playthrough you shouldn't be playing on expert, although that sounds like a you problem because that's pretty much idea for fighting the eye

Water mobs no longer aggro when you sit in a separate pool of water. Devs took away that exploit. But I was able to figure out how to replicate the same thing by simply hammering a few blocks into diagonals. We're back baby.

Still wont be as efficient because they need line of sight, so the whole ocean to the right behind the downwards slope is non aggro, but should work for the most part

i didn't see i was dying to eye i said every boss i fight rapes me, i've killed the eyeball and the slime thing. the ones that have raped me are the skeleton thing in the dungeon to the west, the bee bitch, and the giant brain in the red zone

works just as well, all the fish simply swim beneath me and then they become aggro. they don't stay in the right or left portions of the screen for more than 10 seconds because they aggressively swim left to right. however, the jellyfish do remain docile, but from what I see, that doesn't effect the fish spawn to much because I've seen like 10 to 15 swim towards me despite there being 4 jellies on screen.

Make sure you are using potions, campfires, heart lanterns and building proper arenas. You have time to prepare for your encounters.
