Post those achievement/trophy lists.
You DO complete the games you play, don't you?
Post those achievement/trophy lists
Aiming to get to 150 plats by the end of the year, though getting an Xbone recently has shifted my focus a bit. Earned over 20,000G in the past month and a half since getting it. Game Pass is a fucking god send for achievement whores like me.
I've only been going after Steam achievements as of late. before that i used to go after the Sexbox and my rarest achievement on that was the "Bucket list" from Forza motorsport 4 (beat every event on the event list and that took years). Halo CE Anniversary was the most fun i had achievement hunting and the only game i got 100% on.
>150 plats
How many are you at right now?
2 accounts 14 years 29 plats. I only plat if i really like a game and even then I won't if the game has bullshit grinding trophies like the witcher 3 and it's fucking crossbow headshot kill bronze trophy.
I do sometimes only when i dont get burnt out by playing it and the game becomes a chore and unenjoyable to finish the trophy list.
I play games to enjoy myself. Sometimes that means beating challenges that are frustrating and time consuming, but in the end that's part of the fun. For the most part, trophy hunting isn't fun. They're chores, and that defeats the purpose of playing. I just don't enjoy wasting time trying to get the RNG to align just right, or do a repetitive task to the point of fatigue. The only use trophies have is showing them off but I keep my account private
Guides on psnprofies are so fucking shit compared to trueachievements it's not even funny. especially that bad company 1 guide; "just go do the 10k kills legit lolol".
>not using the superior playstationtrophies.org
Hopped on Killzone Mercenary since the servers came back up. Just need to idle the 100 online matches now.
Can leaving my Vita on with the charger in fuck the battery up? I'm a brainlet
144. Did the Persona dance games in pretty quick succession recently. If I'm struggling by the end of the year there's a fair few Telltale games on my account to get through.
Yea over time it'll reduce how long your battery can hold a charge, if your gunna leave it plugged remove the battery.
Playstationtrophies.org's guides and solutions are flat out fucking wrong half the time, and they reject perfectly good guides for completely nebulous reasons (from what a mod told me once it seemed to basically boil down to them not liking the guy).
>playstationtrophies.org
That and xboxachievement.org are dead. Almost get a nostalgic feeling going there haha.
Always funny to go back and read old ass threads from 2006
I have like ten games where I only need 1 or 2 more trophies to get the platinum
You should get it no problem then. 6 plats is nothing.
I'm only at 117 myself, so I have quite a while to go.
I might want to tackle a more difficult game to complete soon. Tired of seeing my ultra rare numbers slowly dropping.
I remember when MGS2 was still one of my ultra rares.
As an achievement/trophy whore if I don't like the game or it's a huge grind I just don't bother with it. I don't force myself to play terrible games for the achievements/trophies unless it takes maybe an hour or so.
Is Alone in the Dark as bad as everyone says it is? It just went on sale on the 360 so I might give it a go. Also fuck that stupid Flappy Goat trophy. Must have spent close to half the game time on that alone.
It's janky as fuck, but I had fun with it. The game is short, so it ends before it becomes too much of a slog.
It's been almost a decade since I played it though, so I only remember bits and pieces of it.
>plat game
>game gets dlc and more trophies
>now it will never be at 100%
fucking REEEEEEEEEEEE
>Game is shit easy to platinum, bordering on zero effort
>DLC has some of the most annoying trophies ever concocted
Fucking FFXV. I'm ashamed that I spent 30 hours alone on that multiplayer component.
>plat game
>game had dlc, but is no longer available for purchase, making 100% impossible.
>You DO complete the games you play, don't you?
of course I complete them, but I don't get the point of achievement hunting
for example I have 900 hours in DS3, but I don't have all the achievements because I never felt like I needed all sorceries on a single character, why bother?
>plat game
>game add 40,000 kill multiplayer achievements
>why bother?
Because it's one of the cheevies, brah. If you have 900hrs in ds3 it's kind of hard to believe you didn't do it by accident if i'm being honest.
>complete
Don't push your compulsions on me.
What is the Playstation equivalent?
>Developers add a stupidly long grind of an achievement/trophy purely to spite one person
Guess the game.
Recently got the plat for Persona 5 Royal. Feels good man. Another plat that I'm really proud of is DMC5.
>speed run trophies
I CAN'T DO IT FAST IF I COULD I WOULD BE A TRANNY STOP PUTTING THIS IN
I love speed run trophies. It's fun to be rewarded for blasting through a game you like and have a lot of experience with to kind of cap things off.
I'll do every single interesting trophy no matter how outrageous the challenge but grindy shit is where I draw the line. Like I was just playing the FFT port in iOS and they have achievements for learning Ultima and Zodiark, which are interesting because you need to come up with a good strategy to survive the attacks and live long enough to force the enemy in question to cast it. But then they have this long list of "master every single job" which involves having your party stand around in a circle chucking rocks and potions at each other for hours. Hard pass on shit like that. I may do them if there's only one or two of those left for the plat in the end and don't take ages though, like the Pure Bladestone in Demon's Souls. But I've had no qualms about dropping it at one achievement left because it's dull grindy bullshit either, like with Lightning Returns which has this "upgrade a bunch of accesories" achievement which takes several playthroughs. I guess it depends in large part on how much fun I had with the game. Doing the grindy shit is a way to honor a great game.
>caring about trophies and achievements
lmaoing at your life
