>"It's like when you write - when you're younger, you look back on [previous work] and you think 'Oh, goodness what was I thinking,'" Miyazaki explained. "It's not that I'm embarrassed, I just don't like to look at my previous works."
Demon's Souls looks and plays better than Dark Souls 3 in 4k on PC. What did he mean with this. youtu.be/G7oKNdps-4A?t=275
Maybe he's ashamed of demon souls being rushed or the dev troubles it had leading to world 6 being cut?
Jordan Cooper
I don't think you're ever truly happy with something you've made. At some point you just need to stop and decide it's finished. But whenever you look back at it, you see something that you'd like to change. An extreme case is how George Lucas butchered the Star Wars movies
Michael Powell
Demon's Souls also had the best atmosphere out of any Soulsborne game
Christian Thomas
It's impossible to look into the mind of a creator from the eyes of the consumer. Miyazaki is most likely 130+ IQ and contextualizing his game direction on a level far above the plane of the average Zig Forumsirgin seething over framerates.
Luis Turner
>ashamed of Demon's Souls >not ashamed of Dark Souls 3 What's wrong with Miyazaki.
Jackson Turner
Remember when shortly after the DaS 1 release this retard was talking about how difficulty was not important in these games, and how his primary goal was to make games with interesting worlds/settings and unique bosses, and difficulty only being secondary to him, if that?
Whatever happened to that? Even if you go back as far as DaS 2 that clearly wasn't the case anymore with that game, and that hasn't changed since then, with maybe BB being the sole exception as far as the interesting setting goes.
Xavier Howard
best atmosphere and best level design.
Dominic Rodriguez
If they had to “cut” a world then they trimmed everything appropriately. There’s nothing like Izalith in DeS and all the levels are well-rounded, if that archstone weirded you out at the start it won’t by the end of the game.
Aiden Ortiz
Oh don't get me wrong, I think Demon Souls is great and very consistent - far more than any other souls game. Every world is tight as fuck. I'm just trying to imagine what he'd be ashamed about.
Brandon Gomez
It's a "I had so many ideas and this is what I made in the end" situation. It doesn't mean it's shit, it's just that a lot of creators are not proud of their works which lead them to try to do better. That's why Dark Souls is a copypasta of DeS but with a shit second half
Aiden Rivera
Stuff like your world tendency getting adjusted closer to the average whenever you went to the nexus was pretty fucking stupid in hindsight.
Xavier Rivera
Yeah, it was an "interesting concept" but then you just had to play as a ghost for the whole game if you didn't want to get locked out of places
Joshua Gutierrez
Second half in Das1 isnt so bad. I loved new londo and tomb of the giants , the archives were meh and lost izalith was horrible tho i enyoied demon ruins
Aiden Parker
Miyazaki is busy making new games. If you want a remaster ask Sony.
Kevin Russell
That quote was cherrypicked and elevated by contrarian e-celeb worshipers. Of course the difficulty is important, only a fucking retard would believe otherwise.
Kayden Perez
>That quote was cherrypicked and elevated by contrarian e-celeb worshipers.
No it wasn't, it's from his interview in the DaS 1 artbook.
Jacob Cooper
I don't get why people want a DeS remake. The only way i'd be interested is if they developed the broken archstone areas but as far as I'm aware they never materialised half of what they wanted to put in the giant archstone.
I imported the game from US cause it wasn't out an Europe and loved it but I feel like Dark Souls outdid it in pretty much every way. I was always dissapointed that they did a Dark Souls 2 instead of just making another new world, I think that's why I enjoyed Bloodborne and Sekiro better than DaS 2&3.
To me it'd have been perfect if they just went:
Demon's > Dark > Bloodborne > Sekiro > Elden Ring.
I actually like Dark Souls III but it feels a bit like a "best of" that contains all the familiar favourites but out of context. Dark Souls II is like an album of just B sides from an otherwise great album
Hunter King
Man i know im gonna sound like such a faggot but you pretty much summed up my thoughts and opinions exactly as i have them in your post
Because is the worst Souls and is extremely IRRELEVANT
Isaac Murphy
His biggest regret in DaS3 is lineer world design. Game already has best bosses, soundtrack, 2nd half in any Souls game.
Zachary Miller
Amen to that. Demon's atmosphere is god tier.
Camden James
Don't ever apologize or criticize yourself for having an opinion. Own it, it's yours! This is accurate. Spiritual successors are the best kind of fromsoft games. They also need a way to bring the mystery back. Bloodborne did this to a certain extent, but it was over pretty quickly.
Elijah Baker
>Demon's Souls looks and plays better than Dark Souls 3 in 4k on PC How do I get it to run good? What kind of specs would I need?
>soundtrack Hmm not sure chief. Only soul of cinder had any impact on me . Das3 feels like it went too safe with generic chanting thay tries to denote sadness or epicness , not enough instrument variety
Eli Lewis
Try listening Gael's theme again.
Isaac James
lucas just wanted to show off his new render farms and make more toys
Grayson Brown
Any current mid-range PC spec can easly run it at 60fps 1080p, not sure about 4k resolution trought.
Cameron Ortiz
This is the popular opinion shared and spread by the groupthink, but several DS3 tracks are good. The truth lies somewhere inbetween the two stances. It's a good soundtrack that's also generic and has some low and high points. There are tracks worth saving.
Ryan Martinez
man I love gael's theme. but I wish there was a version without the chorus, it drowns out the instruments at times
I just want a remake in hopes they'll restore the sixth archstone. I could give a fuck if the rest of the game looks the same and they just up the resolution and framerate.
But if a remake happens, it will probably be done by Bluepoint and that means it will be the exact same game but with a "soulless" coat of paint that shits all over the original's atmosphere like they did with SoTC.
