yes, even when i was 17 i wasn't allowed to play games above E10, shitty parenting that tries to shelter you from everything so that you can't think for yourself. Also is there a single AO rated game that isn't just porn?

No they banned me from all games for like 5 years because I had bad grades in school
Didn't improve my grades at all

Did you grow up in America?

Happened to me. I was playing chiller on mame and mom was behind me watching me. She went nuts and made me delete the game. I was like 9. I hated that exhibitionist slut

No, my parents didn't give a single crap about what I played as long as I shut up and didn't cause trouble.
>tfw parents never spent any time with me

Couldn't get san andreas until like a few years after it was already out.

Yes.

There was a time I wasn't allowed to watch The Simpsons but nobody batted an eye at Mortal Kombat or GTA, until they started swearing more in San Andreas but by then I was older than the age on the box.

Same :-(

>I hated that exhibitionist slut
Please expand this statement.

No my dad bought GTA3 for me when I was a kid because he doesn't care about the rating system.

i don't know how accurate this list is but here

Unlucky, I hope you're safe from the chaos and madness over there.

They generally didn't care about violence or sex but they were very strict about no swearing.

Yes they banned me from violent "gun killer games" until I was well in my teen years and finally started talking back. Porn was fine though, they are degenerate 60' hippies and would often offer me to buy sextoys if I want them. But don't I dare playing counterstrike with the rest of my friends! I think I was the only kid in my class that could never talk about all these cool new games like medal of honour and call of duty and halo!

My parents advise was to chill, masturbate and smoke some pot. Because making experience with drugs is more important to find my inner peace than to not be the weird outsider at school.

I wasnt really banned but my father bought me diablo 2 as a gift and my mother was upset from the cover and didnt allow me to play it that day. The next day ahe chilled out and i got to play it though

Yes, my grandma used to buy me every game I wanted, even while I was a pre-teen. My mum didn't like it and hid some of them, namely Shadow Man and the N64 Castlevania. I was fairly good at finding them though so I played them while she was gone or at friend's houses.
She stopped hiding them when I found a loaded revolverin a dresser and thought it was a toy gun

So for everyone with shitty parents, do you wish parent licenses were a thing?

My mum and dad are upstanding successful people who love and support me very much. They are my role models and I was allowed to play any game I wanted.

She didn't let me play gta san andreas cuz my brother snitched and said it was a violent game. I still played a ton of shit way worse though.

Young, single hippie mom. She thought it was ok to be nude around the house, smoke weed in front of me or have sex with her bfs with the bedroom door open. Never confronted her about it though

My first video game was duke 3d when I was 3 and my dad showed me his girls gone wild CDs around that age

What did you shoot? Hope it didn't scare you off guns cause they're fun as hell to shoot in the woods

Thank you user, appreciate it

I didn't actually fire it, it was a crappy saturday night special revolver with a super-heavy double action, which probably saved me from more trouble. I was like 10 at the time.
Fuck no, I have a ton of guns of my own now

I was banned from getting GTA3 when I was 13. I did get Vice City a year later, mostly because my dad liked the soundtrack.

What’s the point of AO. Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft of America all have an expressed policy of not allowing AO games on their platforms and it’s been this way since PS2.

Just get rid did it .

>Also is there a single AO rated game that isn't just porn?
Hatred.

My mom wouldn't buy me M rated games but told me straight up that she wasn't gonna police me playing violent video games at friends' houses or whatever.

this, why have a rating that is banned by the big 3 anyway?

>parents teach me the difference between violent media and real life at an early age
>allowed to play violent video games and watch violent movies
>parents sometimes play with me
>dad writes an opinion piece in the 90s on how people blaming violence on video games is bullshit
I love my parents.

Nah, my dad played Doom with me and he understands that games are just a medium of entertainment.

My mother wasn't very present in my childhood to ban me from playing violent games.

I was a good kid who didn't get T rated games until i was old enough. That also meant I didn't get to ever own the GTA games like 3, Vice City, and SA.

There was one time my casual/sportsfag cousin was playing Metal Gear Solid (to this day I'm not sure why he picked it up. Maybe I don't understand how popular MGS was back when it first debuted). I convinced myself I'd only watch the gameplay and run away from the cutscenes/codec calls as if that was somehow the bad thing cause they say bad words (The thing my mom mostly griped about), and then come back later.

I got banned from Turok because I shot a guy in the head in it. Was never allowed to play GTA, which my uncle left over by mistake one time and never picked up. In fact, I think I might have it somewhere...

I wasn't allowed to get any M games until like 7th grade and even then my mom bitched at me about spending my time on violent games
I always felt like I was missing out in elementary school because all my classmates were talking about games like halo but I couldn't play any stuff like that. although towards the end of elementary school I started playing some T games like jak 2. felt like the biggest badass at the time finally getting to play games with guns and bad words in them

My mom was having a thing and stopped me from playing Mercenaries 2 for a few days. I had 14 years I think.
i had already played Gta vc and Sa and she didn't care...

Later i found out that she was pissed cause my dad was cheating on her with prostitutes
