>zoomers are calling it 'retro'
Game released in '99
Its embarrassing. GameCube and PS2 considered retro now
What do we call games from 90's to whatever arbitrary end date then?
was n64 not considered retro in 2007?
It’s as if you still hold the same options as ten years ago.
You do realise the bold arrow of time matches forward, right boomer?
“Time, the despotic innovator”
When I was a kid anything from the 80s was retro. My childhood is now further away from current year than the 80s was from my childhood.
It seems like 80s is still ancient and the 90s/ early 00s are still relevant, but to a kid today a world where alternative rock and nu-metal were major musical forces, online multiplayer games a new concept, and no one had smart phones probably looks like the fucking dark ages.
In games they have a set cutoff date for what is retro so anything after 1999 is not part of retro (sixth generation) no matter how much time passes
>game is retro
>people call it retro
wtf
What would you call it? Semi-retro? It's not as different from modern games as something like the first gen of gaming, but it still generally feels like a unique era in some ways, and just slapping on the retro label is an easy way to distinguish that.
got a source for that? i just wanna see the breakdowns
