What kind of sniveling faggot would buy a physical collection when a bunch of the games are download only and probably won't be available anymore in a few years.

Worth it because awesome games, not worth it because you can just go emulate them right now and save your $60.

Only MGS1 and VR missions is download only, and if you really want those physical the PS1 discs work fine on a PS3.

Did you know the PS2 could also play PS1 games?
And so can the PSP. If you mod a PSP with custom firmware you can then use a Windows computer to rip all your PS1 game discs and transfer them for near-perfect emulation on your PSP.

I'm pretty sure you also have to use a program to convert the ps1 image into the psp readable format first but it's a a matter of just drag and wait.

That was fun for pranks too, I told him I had a copy of MGS2 for PSP and He wouldn't believed me.
So I slapped the background and cover of MGS2 into MGS1's PSP and gave it to me.

You're remembering wrong. What they did nuke was Linux support, which allowed people to sue 'em for false advertisement and get compensations.
They simply removed PS2 hardware from the EU fats, and then even the emulation software from every Slim version afterwards. You can restore the software to jailbroken PS3s, but it's not perfect emulation by any means.

Nah. The backwards compat on fat PS3s still works as new, what was removed is the Linux support.
