Funny how Oko the gook and Teferi the negro are hated for being so OP. It's almost like Wizards is retarded.

Oko is broken, but people only hate Teferi because they hate control

Teferi isn't op, he's just the embodiment of fundamentally bad game design in a game meant to be played between two people.
Oko was just a fucking mistake. Oko was so blatantly broken the question isn't how he got past R&D but why.

>next set is going to be him x3
fucking why

>putting niggers in mtg
nu-WotC is fucking terrible with this pandering

I hate Teferi because I don't like playing Hearthstone

It would be hilarious that they topped Oko in retarded powercreep literally two sets later with Lurrus if it didn't so clearly demonstrate that MTG is unplayable for the foreseeable future.

>each opponent can cast spells only any time they could cast a sorcery.
What does that actually mean for someone who doesn't play magic? because that sounds like it should do nothing to me, does it mean none on the enemy turn?

Please don't disrespect Mr. T.

It was said that not a single pla tester thought to use the +1 as removal.

Imagine being this out of touch with MtG you think there haven't been black characters since the fucking 90s

yes. Sorcery cards are cards you can play on your turn. Instants are cards you can play whenever, usually in response to something (kinda like trap cards in yugioh). There are also other cards with the "flash" ability, which means they can be played at instant speed.

This card effectively means your opponents can only play cards on their own turns, which means they can't stop you from doing things in your own turn.

A big part of magic is using "instant" speed spells that can be played at any time including the opponents turn. So he effectively shuts that entire mechanic off and he's super cheap for that ability

You can only cast sorceries if anything else is happening and it's your turn.
So counterspells don't work and abilities that cast other spells don't work either.
You can't play spells if it isn't your main phase either so even if it's combat on your own turn you can't play magic.
The card is extraordinarily oppressive because you can't even shoot it with a kill spell when an opponent plays it since it's not your turn yet so any mana you held up is worthless.

Curious is the trapmaker's art, user.

>nigger
>ruins things
why am I not surprised

standard is literally always terrible

people sometimes claim the meta is fun and diverse but it always devolves back into shit, every time

they hate teferi because there are no good answers

Nice bait.

*also ruins murica's cities*
Not my city.
Comfy privileged DAB

>does it mean none on the enemy turn?
Yes but it goes a bit deeper than that. Instants and other types of cards with Flash can be cast at anytime, even when your opponent is currently casting something. So if my opponent is casting a spell that deals 3 damage to my creature, I can cast a spell that gives said creature +3 toughness to save it.
Teferi just says "no" to all that interaction bullshit, and since his prevention of Instant-speed spells works as a passive effect, once he hits the field, it's over, you can't do anything on your opponent's turn and your opponent used his turn dealing with one of your cards by returning it to the hand, while you're pretty much forced use your next turn dealing with Teferi or else and as you can see this single nigger can dictate the entire pacing of the game simply by existing.

And magic thought this was okay? It's like cyber dragon infinity on crack. Does he have no attack, i remember the cards looking like 2/2 and stuff in the bottom corner.

> only hate Teferi because they hate control
People were splashing blue in fucking mono white weenies when teferi came out.

>We didn't think people would elk their opponents cards
I'm paraphrasing but this was the actual reason the designers gave.

yes, he has no attack. The abilities increase or decrease the number in the bottom right, when it reaches 0 it dies. It can also be attacked by creatures to reduce that number.

He's not a creature. Instead he's like another mini player who can use one ability each of your turns. So you can either use his +1 to give him more health and get that buff or use is -3 to cost some of his health to bounce a thing and replace him with another card. Planeswalkers as a card type are all similar to this. They're kind of like enchantments you can attack, but that doesn't mean they aren't a bitch and a half to get rid of.

I mean let's be real it does everything WW wants

>An Answer to certain permanent types
>Your combat tricks cannot be stopped
>Your ways of giving them power can't be stopped either
>Card draw

To be honest change the +1 into something else and you could argue it as monowhite.

Oh I forgot to add you can use one ability per turn. The very top one which has no up or down icon on the left is static, so it's always in effect while Teferi is on the battlefield.

This card is a Planeswalker. It's another type of permanent (card that stays on the field) THe bottom right number is his loyalty counter number. He starts with four, and his abilities, (which you can play one per turn) either add or remove loyalty from him. ONce he hits 0 loyalty, he dies. Your opponent can target him as if he were anohter player.

>ras teferi

Lame, literally denying yourself a counter war with another blue player.

So, what standard decks are you running right now, bros? I just made an Azorius flyers deck and it's a lot of fun. Also an Izzet high-draw deck.
I want to make a Dimir flash with lots of Ikoria creatures but I don't have enough wildcards now.

>play teferi
>-3
>die to literally any damage
Wow, 3 mana to bounce one card. So OP.

Just because it does something mono white wants doesn't magically make it a mono white card. Bouncing creatures and drawing a card for your trouble is not a mono white effect.

Is it true that your magic deck can be as big as you can carry if you wanted?

The biggest deal was it just let them hold up a middle finger to control, you could also do shenanigans like bouncing back your own prisons or benalias.
Teferi is just such a generic good stuff card it goes perfectly into any deck that can support its colors properly.

>I bounced one of your cards, then made you play another one with a card that replaced itself.
In your own scenario you just 2 for 0'd yourself.
