What is Zig Forums's favorite on rail shooter?

This is my favourite. I seldom played until I was older because it didn't give any tickets in Chucke E. Cheese. I beat with the help of some kid when I was fifteen.

FYI if you're playing HotD1 in an emulator you can remove the white flash.

Time crisis 2.
I'm still salty about being ONE CONTINUE AWAY FROM BEATING THE FUCKING GAME WHEN I RAN OUT OF QUARTERS REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Aren't the bosses in the HotD games made to eat up quarters?

my nigga

If you suck.

Carnevil

bros what's that rail shooter called where you are on like a safari or something shooting animals as a couple and if you shoot the same spot there's like a heart and you get a couples bonus or something and then at the end of each stage it rates you on how good of a couple you are? i think it's developed by sega.

Based. The screen flash gives me the worst goddamn headache. Fuck them for putting that shit in the game.

nvm it's called Let's Go Jungle! that game is tight

pokemon snap

Star fox 64 and Pokemon Snap

It was necessary for the original gun controllers but luckily it's no longer necessary.

House of the Dead 4

I like a lot of them, like the jurrasic park on.. crisis zone. Silent scope is sick.

Area 51

LA Machine Guns

It was one of the longest running cabinets at my local arcade and it was near the entrance so it was always the first and last game I played each time I went. I was so beyond psyched when this actually got a release on Wii.

i can replay HotD 2 from start to finish every time i see a cabinet.

BUT i'll have to give it up for this one.

the final boss still makes my heart race like no other game.

My favorites are Silent Scope II, Deadstorm Pirates, and Time Crisis 3. I've also had a lot of fun with other SS/TC games, HotD2&4 (haven't played the others), Ghost Squad, Police 911, and surprisingly Revolution X (for what it is at least).

I've played the game in the OP post as well. Not super well-designed, but the gun itself was solid as fuck. I wish there was a better game with those things on it; it was just hefty enough and felt good to brace against your shoulder, plus I loved that you slap the magazine to reload.

i always play that game solo or with a girl.
im not a fucking homo

also there's a sequel apparently.

I honestly really enjoyed Time Crisis Razing Storm, or just Razing Storm in the arcades.
The game is just super hyped from the get go, and the motorised gun slide along with the fully destructible environments give a really cool 'Heavy Gunner' feel.

I also like the fact you have cross hairs that follow your aim. It's not the norm for light gun games but in this case I think it works really well, adding to that aforementioned 'Heavy Gunner' feel.

I also enjoy the cover mechanics (although this applies to all Time Crisis games), since it makes it feel a lot more skillful and less like route memorisation. Though you still have to memorise a lot.

i never see people talking about Dark Escape 4D

is it really that shitty?

Lucy and Wild, nothing more badass then driving around and wasting everyone. Then getting your dick sucked by babes duke nukem style after each level.

It's alright, but it eats your money far too quickly. Nice set pieces though and the cabinet has a lot of cool bells and whistles like a 3D screen, air blasters, surround sound and some cool lighting effects.

Sucks this never got a home release. Hell of a co-op game.

Why do people like this game?

what's wrong with it?

Midway's digitized live action was hot for several years, they slapped it onto several games, and light gun games were hot so why not combine the two? It's not really all that great but I personally enjoyed it more than Carnevil when it comes to Midway's rail shooters.

I always had a soft spot for Revolution X, they always had the arcade cab at the county fair while I was growing up.
Then I went last year and there was no arcade games or any other entertainment, just lots of farm animals and junk food booths. They even tore down the grandstands with a huge indoor area for some fucking reason. Shit was depressing.

I think it's mostly well remembered since you were always sure to find a cabinet in every arcade or movie theater because Atari were practically giving them away. They were also cheap plays and the digitized actors are still pretty charming even today.

Yeah you said it. This was one of the few things my dad and I actually got to bond over. Always looked forward to playing this with him at the arcade.
