What was the golden age of videogames?
What was the golden age of videogames?
my childhood
zip zoom
1997 to 2007
Late 90s to early 2000s
Everything pre-9/11
97-04
Right now
2000-2005
Depends on the platform. PC Golden age is early 90s DOS to early 2000s end of CRPG era. Console golden age was pretty much SNES up to PS2.
1994-2005
I want big fat rat.......
mid-90s to mid-2000s
>2D mastered
>3D introduced, stylized, and mastered
>nascent online
>video games weren't a normie hobbie
>golden age of adventure games, fighters, survival horror, W and JRPGs, racing games, beat em ups, light gun games, RTS and FPS
>wide selection of systems, genres and styles
>emulation and fan translations
>gaming magazines and shows
>schoolyard rumors
>web 1.0, forums, custom servers
NES was also very based, not much competition though
whenever timeframe that goes from "you know enough to have developed your tastes" and "you can predict what a game is going to tell you"
usually this matches childhood, because the naivete of being young and inexperienced goes really well with the fantasy world premises most videogames have
look in a mirror
92-2002
Right now
The golden age of vidya began when they unveiled dynamic scrotum mechanics in Red Dead Redemption 2
this by a long shot
h-hey...!
1994 to 2006
Back before they became appealing to the masses.
this
90s to mid 00s. Most games before 1990 are shit and most games after mid 00s are shit.
Can be a bit earlier, but no later.
1994-2000

i apologize
1989-2014
The timeperiod YOU had the most fun playing vidya
1986-2006
I see a big fat but no rat
My childhood was the Snes/Genessis era.
But i unironically think the golden age of gaming is the period between 1995 and 2005.
That is when games on all platforms truly started to get refined and push the medium to its maximum while still focusing on making video games acual video games.
it's ok user, I would love to be a big fat rat desu
