Why is there a giant stigma against Mario and Luigi? Why do people and especially e-celeb fags, act like only Paper Mario is good?

Because it's too hard for the average smooth brain and doesn't have the "hidden lore" compared to paper mario

Arlo doesn't hate Mario & Luigi and has even praised its design and mechanics

Why does your autism hinder you because others have different taste, shit or not

Paper mario was never good

>Because it's too hard for the average smooth brain
I don't want to do a series of quicktime events every single turn in order to feel like I'm doing any real damage. It's exhausting after a while. Paper Mario's action commands are less demanding while still being varied enough to make attacks feel different.

You know, you don’t HAVE to avoid getting hit.

Mario and Luigi was the true successor to Mario RPG and the fact that Alpha Dream is bankrupt and we're probably never going to get another one is terrible. I really want to know why they decided to start remaking games. They must have been hurting for revenue and needed to get anything they could out and fast.

You just proved his point you fucking smooth brain.

You can thank Zig Forums and the average M&L fag for pushing that BIS is the pinnacle of Mario RPGs, LITERALLY zero flaws despite having one of the worst overworlds and being bloated with mandatory gimmick minigames and tutorials up until the end. Now everyone shits on the rest of the series.

A perfectly respectable point, but for some reason that never actually bothered me while I played the games. It is basically a platformer where you're doing the exact same maneuvers over and over.

I actually really like Mario and Luigi's dodging mechanic. My problem is the Bro Attacks, they're practically required for every single turn if you want to do any serious damage. Jumps and the Hammer feel so ineffective in Mario and Luigi compared to Paper Mario.

>NOOOOO STOP MAKING MARIO AND LUIGI GAMES THEY ARE BECOMING TOO SAMEY

>NOOOOOOOO STOP MAKING DIFFERENT PAPER MARIO GAMES, I WANT THEM TO BE LIKE THE ORIGINALS

It's just a inherently limited concept that ran its course. There's not much you can do with an series where there's only two main party members.

At least Mario RPG and the (good) Paper Marios have multiple party members to play around with.

Who has ever said it was bad? I only ever hear people comment that dream team was mediocre at worst.

I don’t feel that way if you can keep dodging the attacks.

nobody says that ever

is there? most people overrate bowser's inside story

Paper Mario is more about bringing unique stories into the Mario World

Mario and Luigi is more about giving the Mario World development and characters.

Anyone have that Cyanide and Happiness panel that says something like "you are creating imagined realities where you are persecuted in scenarios you invented"?. I never hear anyone saying what OP is talking about.

I genuinely don’t know. Most of the E-Celebs like Rogersbase have admitted they’ve not played them, so how do they even know that they’re bad?

>gameplay is exhausting let me just hit buttons on a menu to “do” things

That’s only for boss battles though? Besides they’re fun to do.

New bros moves and overworld techniques = new partners. Its the same shit.

The first M&L game was fine but wasn't great on replay value. The rest of the M&L games were pretty shit.

I didn't mind the way Superstar Saga did the commands, except they should have given a clearer indication for how to time the hammer command.

People say that every day you sperg. Stop revising history.

You not seeing the shit happen is not an excuse for it not happening in the first place. Pay attention.

Atleast Fawfuls Minion gives the series respect, it easily has the best character development between the two

If you feel that way they you’re REALLY going to hate PM64 and TTYD...

the only people saying something that stupid are assmad stickersplash defenders desperately trying to start a retarded fanbase war to detract from how ass TOK looks.

Paper Jam was great, it gave characters some great personalities, it was nice seeing King Bob-omb in particular again

In retrospect, the longer the series went on, the less creative it was. The series was fine until Paper Jam and the cash grab remakes though. They didn't realize that to save themselves they needed to be creative, innovative, and provide fan service for people that liked the series' own characters and settings. With Paper Jam, they did none of that. I don't know if they just got burned out and lazy or if it's from Miyamoto and Tanabe's NO STORY autism, but the series took a sharp turn for the worst near the end there.

That's not the problem at all.
Rather it's that Nintendo started moving Paper Mario away from standard JRPG style because Mario & Luigi exists and they didn't need two JRPG series. But at the same time, M&L started being more gimmicky too, arguably only the very first game in series is a standar JRPG.
And then Nintendo told Alphadream to keep remaking the old games for a console that people didn't really want to buy shit on, and just let them die.

Was Paper Jam any good? I skipped Dream Team so I haven't played the series in general.

The fuck are you talking about? The first 2 paper mario games are goddamn amazing and hold up to this day.

>>NOOOOO STOP MAKING MARIO AND LUIGI GAMES THEY ARE BECOMING TOO SAMEY
They started to fall into the homogeneous NSMB route more and more with every entry and things like bros attacks just became tedious item mini games instead of like if Mario and Luigi were really fighting together. Of course, fans of story-based RPGs wanted more creativity and more innovation.
>>NOOOOOOOO STOP MAKING DIFFERENT PAPER MARIO GAMES, I WANT THEM TO BE LIKE THE ORIGINALS
The problem isn't that their different, it's that they're objectively lesser in every conceivable aspect but level design. Less text, less story, less originality, fewer characters, fewer new settings, fewer items, fewer collectables, fewer badges, fewer partners, fewer enemies, fewer recipes, etc. Instead of making better games, they've completely gutted the series of everything that made it fun and unique. Of course, fans of story-based RPGs wanted more creativity and more innovation.

Just play Dream Team. It's the last real M&L.
