>A crpg you can play with your friends
Why is this the only game like this?
>A crpg you can play with your friends
Why is this the only game like this?
It's not.
About to start first game. Totally new to the series, how hard honour mode will be? Any advice?
Play undead.
For your first game you probably shouldnt play honor mode. That being said, dont split your party damage. Any mages you have are support sluts, also glass cannon is more of a tank talent than a dps talent
literally played baldurs gate with a friend in 1999
I don't have friends. Is this game still worth it?
It's the only crpg you can play with your friends where you can actually betray your friends
Definitely, the first one less so but D:OS2 works perfectly well as a singleplayer game without feeling like you should be playing co-op
How do I play shadowblade?
baldur's gate 1 had multiplayer in the late 90s but i guess you were still playing exbok or nintnedo back then
I heard the scaling for gear in this game is fucked. Is the "fix"mod worth downloading?
I tried playing the first one with a friend and it was just kinda messy, and really slow. In RPGs you have so many options but not necessarily the same interests, so you have some fun moments but also moments where you're just kinda in each others way. I dunno, I don't think I'd try 2 player co-op again but maybe 4 players would be cool, I think it'd have to be fairly light on story though.
>Why is this the only game like this?
It's not.
>Bladur's Gate 2
>Icewind Dale 2
Both have functional co-op multiplayer.
>He hasn't played 6 player co-op Baldurs Gate
there was this game called diablo
>A D&D game you can't play with your friends
This one really gets my noggin joggin. D&D is literally a multiplayer game and doesn't work very well if you try to play it single player.
>co-op RTWP
I love BG, but holy shit is it ass in MP.
>started in honour mode with lonewolf cause I'm real hard nigga that doesn't play on normalfag modes
>mfw I get to the crocos
>that peak in difficulty around 9~13 and Mordus with their fucking thick armorss
It's pretty fine right now (lv 15), I roll on pretty much everything, corpse explosion is op and I will leave Driftwood soon.
>late 90's
>xbox
retard
literally baldur's gate
zoomzoom
Baldurs Gate is trash multiplayer, that’s like suggesting FF9 which technically has multiplayer for some reason. BG is fun to play only when you have control of the whole party. If you’re the guy stuck with a fighter in a six person party you’re going to be bored out of your mind.
t. zoomie
The very first BG lets you do this.
BG2, IWD1EE, IWD2, NWN1&2 all had it as well, the NWN series even having persistent worlds which are miles more ambitious and far more fun than anything in DivOS
No one will be playing Divinity Multiplayer some years from now, NWN1&2 still have people to the day playing on the online servers while autistically roleplaying
>was
If only this was true and they actually let it fucking die
sorry dont keep up with your favorite brand box
If anything, amusingly enough multiplayer in cRPGs just stopped being the norm now, despite far more up to date tech.
Especially with the BG clones like PoE and Kingmaker.
>people to the day playing on the online servers while autistically roleplaying
>misspell Calimshan in my character bio.
>server mod appears in the character room to grill me
>tells me to change my charname or instant ban
>"Wait, how do I change my na—"
>banned
I both love and fucking despise it.
It's run by and populated by literal fucking autists, but goddamn is it fun as fuck to mess with people in. Spent a whole night stirring up shit undressing my character and insisting I'd been robbed and guilt-tripping people for freebies.
It depends on the server, I suppose.
Some are far more anal about it, others are just chill.
There used to be action servers as well where you'd just kill shit, actually some are still up to the day but the most popular aka lively ones are the roleplaying variety
You can play as a dragon in neverwinter?
t. has no fun friends and doesn't drink
>and doesnt drink
This is the normiest shit ive ever read
playing a fighter in bg, or real D&D are both boring, made fun only by alcohol, cope.
The fact that you didnt even understand what i was implying makes this even funnier
>The fact that you didnt even understand what i was implying makes this even funnier
This does not quite look like the Neverwinter I remember
>Never played a game of this genre before in my life
>Play with wife on the "normal mode" equivalent
>Get boddied on a lot of first encounters, especially the guards in a dungeon, which we decided to quick load out of and a bunch of killer frogs in some caves
How do we get good?
Are you using the lone wolf talent? Are either of you using glass cannon? Are you both using different damage types?
>undead
>the first game
Retard
because it's dumb
you miss out on half the shit because your friends ruin everything
Lone Wolf is a normalfag easy mode bordering on cheats though. There's also an instant party wipe mechanic that really does not telegraph itself very much on Nameless Isle so have fun.
Get better friends.
I played undead my first game and it was great. Its really easy to keep conealemnt and taking damage from healing spells isnt that big of a deal.
i'm too old to get new firends
