Most soul crushing moment?
>Pic related
take the joy fatty
the combat is stinky anyway
>I tried. And no matter what, I really did love you with all my heart. I'm so sorry I failed you, Buddy. I miss you so much.
Cheeks did nothing wrong, man.
>today is the day you die, Brad!
>no, I've been dead for 40 years. Today is the day I live.
this and the final fights against Brad in the DLC. apex kinoludology right here.
>an indie game has better character development, depth and writing than most modern triple A games
Still can't believe how fucking amazing this game is
i'm sorry
It's that the "humans are the real monsters" message is shoved right in your face in repeated sucker punches.
It's ironic this game gets compared to Undertale because it's kind of the antithesis to it. No matter your choices, the outcome is inevitable.
:)
>You showed me what love really is.
>and that's why when I look into your eyes, it's the scariest feeling in the world.
Joyful was a mistake.
Didn't deltarune have the same message kinda? With the whole fake character creation in the beginning
>Brad doesn't know what to do.
>The nobody is a failure.
>Dad hugs you.
Brad didn't do the right thing, and Brad was a monster, but he did try his best. He really did try his best. He was a broken man haunted by his past.
is this a good game on it's own or do i need to play earthbound first to "get it"? it looks super cool
it has literally nothing to do with earthbound aside from overall style and presentation.
However, this game is actually a "sequel" to LISA: The First, which is a very short, free, Yume Nikki-like game that does provide a bit more context, but it's not really necessary to play.
Outside of the artstyle being inspired by Earthbound it has nothing to do with it. It's a sequel to a super edgy game the creator made though, and in that way there's some information that you can only get from playing the first LISA game. It's not required though, and I think the game does a good job of showing off how fucked shit is regardless.
Are there any Lisa fangames that take place outside of Olathe? I think it would be interesting to see other countries or locations after the white flash. Maybe a city setting
The ending alone made The Joyful worth playing.
Whatever happened to The Pointless?
Brad doesn't want to do this...
"you were always my little buddy"
Brad has given up
Dad misses you
Dad comforts you
The nobody is crying deeply
You have to know this Buddy, I was completely lost before I found you. You made me feel things again. Things no one has ever made me feel. You showed me what love really is. And that's why when I look into your eyes it's the scariest feeling in the world. It's why I buried myself so deep in the darkness. But, I promise you. I tried so hard to fight it. I tried. And no matter what I really did love you with all of my heart. I'm so sorry I failed you Buddy. I miss you so much
Brad did nothing wrong. One day he was going to die and Buddy had to be ready to take on the world . Yes, she's the only girl in the world, but the population can't be saved by a bunch of men impregnating the same girl. People barely had the resources to care for themselves. How are they going to raise a baby?
part 2 is being worked on i think. very slowly
what's the source on that picture?
joyful was worth it for the music, and for concluding buzzo's character arc because he was definitely the worst part of painful. everything else was pretty disappointing to say the least
God fucking dammit.
>and for concluding buzzo's character arc because he was definitely the worst part of painful
Eh if anything Joyful made me hate Buzzo even more.
>Yeah Brad was a good man and I know it's not his fault Lisa killed herself. I still tormented him though because YOLO
I loved LISA the painful
got the joyful but haven't barely touched it
is it worth it?
