>retard doesnt know how to utilize gambits
Why is Zig Forums so filtered by FFXII?

>mfw waking up as a teenager and running downstairs to check if the negalmuur trick worked as intended throughout the night
>mfw sister unplugged the ps2

Majority of Zig Forums is casuals pretending to be hardcore making fun of casuals.

ps2 gen is worst gen and full of retards

Reminder that gambits are a basic scripting system tacked on top of the game's own combat system, and that it could be seamlessly transplanted into any other Final Fantasy game that has come before XII.
If you make fun of XII because of it, you're unwittingly making fun of every other game in the franchise as well, so if you're using it to say that the game is somehow worse than something else in the franchise you're really dumb.

Agreed, gave us horrible series like persona

he literally knows how to use them better than you though, going by what he posted

Based and basepilled

you're a fucking retard. they make fun of it because you don't have to engage. It's a video game you barely have to play meaning it's a failure and it's boring.

>Ally:any -> potion
What?

More games with AI controlled party members should have a gambits system 2bh

I tried gambit-less and it was incredibly slow. Makes the game longer than any FF game just by time bloat. But on the other hand playing with gambits feels like you aren't playing. The chaining is literally the only part of intended gameplay that takes any sort of interaction.

This game is just filled with bloat. Areas that are too big with enemies too spaced out. Combat that just exists or is slow as hell. The story feels incredibly disjointed since each short scene happens with a 20 minutes delay. At some points I forgot what I was even doing in the back and forth delay

>understand the systems well enough to have a flowchart on how to conduct combat
>use scripting to do absolutely nothing but skip the button presses themselves, the gambit system has zero decision making outside of what you feed into it, unlike auto-battle systems in other games
>this is not engaging with the system
Dumb.

in reality
>hold analog stick while you wackamole mobs
>win the game

Yep. XII is a ridiculously easy game, and you steamroll massively. The only time it has felt challenging was when fighting Zeromus early, and the final boss that for some reason was kicking my face.
It's not like I'm trying to defend the game as being terribly complex.
I'm saying the gambit system is irrelevant to how trivial the game itself already is, and it doesn't change the difficulty of the battles, so complaining about its existence is missing the forest for the trees.

Isn't that from the gambit tutorial where he says it's shit

unrelated to ff12 but reminded me

>parents got me a ps1 and spyro the dragon for birthday when i was like 8
>refuse to get me a memory card because they felt like what i had was enough and couldn't grasp the concept of a memory card
>kind of bad at the game but love playing it, cant turn it off though without losing all data
>somehow sneak spending all day playing, get further than i ever have, close to final boss
>HAVE to take a break, accidentally end up taking a nap
>wakeup to older sister unplugging it to hook up the VCR to watch the fucking spice girls movie
>start screaming at my sister and crying
>get grounded
>explicit time limits place on my gaming from that point forward

Sisters are bitches

I still remember when GFaqs had a swath of threads saying FFXII was too hard

imagine ff12 but with xenoblade chronicles combat

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that somehow the original release of is way, way more challenging, and it's been enough years that I can't recall what it was like. But TZA didn't feel like that at all, it was a very easy and relaxed game throughout. By the end point of it you were just taking off 15%, 20% of the HP of bosses with single attacks.and battles were at most a minute long, if even that.

not judging from that pic

No, you just overreacted like a fucking autistic retard and got punished for it. If it were my dad he'd have taken the fucking console away and never give it back

So worse?

This. Infinitely better than watching them stand there being retards waiting for you to switch to them and wipe their ass for them. The 7 remake would be so much better with just a bare bones gambit system.

That's because the original version actually was way more difficult without the zodiac license tree.

>whole point is to setup gambits so you dont have to micromanage your characters
>still restricts you to a party of three
Fucking bullshit

This was the exact moment Square started chasing the “game with no gameplay” dragon. Now we get classics like FF7R that everyone burns through in a day, oohs and aaahs at the pretty graphics and never plays again.

Is this your first time playing with a CRPG mechanic? Baldur's Gate did it too, original Fallout did it too, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, etc. Are you new?

>FF7R
>Graphics
The environments are brown and bland with n64 textures

And all of those games have shit gameplay and are carried by everything else, wow, it's almost as if the whole real time with pause system is absolute garbage.

>it’s okay because other games did it too
are you tarded, user?

Well then I guess it has nothing going for it other than nostalgia.

FFXII literally has the most content out of the entire series by far. None of the SNES and PS1 even remotely compares. FFXII has at least 1.5x more bosses alone

The original game didnt' give you all of the gambits for free early on and was overall a lot more difficult as well as slow. It's a good four times as challenging especially going in to it in 2006 like it was a FF game. Zoomers wouldn't understand.

Thank fuck Jelly trick's better anyway

I couldn’t get into it. Tried on ps2 and fizzled our 10 hours in. Tried again on PS4 and got a bit further but got bored again. X was the last truly enjoyable FF. I wasn’t really speaking to the content anyway, it was well polished and had just about everything you’d want out of a FF but it was definitely the moment they went full force stripping away the actual gameplay.

>it has nothing going for it other than nostalgia.

That's precisely it.
Goes for most remakes too.

>refuse to get me a memory card because they felt like what i had was enough and couldn't grasp the concept of a memory card
my nigga. i played through the opening 6 hours of ff7 so many fucking times. furthest i got was costa del sol before i finally got a memory card when i was 10

7R has the best combat in the franchise, and Hard mode is the most challenging thing the franchise has ever shit out.
