D-PADS

Is there any controller that can challenge this D-Pad? It's so fucking good

There was nothing redeemable about that, not the dpads, or the buttons. Nothing.

The saturn dpad shits all over that. Are you fucking kidding me?

the xbone elite 2's is probably the best i've ever used.

not the stupid disc one though.

Any thoughts on pic? been hearing good things about it

Good but not quite
Absolutely not, I own a JP Saturn pad and I can tell you it's not as good

I just said it's not as good Here's my dusty-ass JP pad for proof

I have that exact one. It's amazing, best D-Pad I've ever used.

Best D-Pad. Faceted looks weird, but it's clicky and responsive with good contact points, so it's great for up down left right, diagonals, and rolls. It's perfection. Don't knock it until you try it.

Been thinking about getting either the Retrobit Saturn Model 2 pad or the 8bitdo M30. Thoughts on both lads?

I prefer the feel of this version of the Fighting Commander. The one in OP has an issue with the dpad membranes giving out.

Too bad these (at least the PS ones) are in low quantity online so the price has gone up tremendously. Have to import one from UK for a reasonable price and it's gonna take a month to get here.

SN30 Pros and SN30P+ controllers are beautiful bang-for-buck, they're fully featured modern controllers with SNES-grade durability. Quality control however is a bit slippery and some people report problems with an oversensitive d-pad for diagonals, though if you're comfortable opening your controller up (the PCB inside is extremely simple, you'd have to purposefully try to damage anything) you can fix the diagonals with a bit of tape if you have the issue. Otherwise they're wonderful controllers, tough as bricks, reliable, Bluetooth connection is stable, battery life is great, works great wired, the only complaint I have about them is the USB-C cable it comes with kinda sucks.

I am 100% convinced 8BitDo shills posts here. I have three 8BitDo products and all three of them are absolute garbage.

3rd party controllers in general are a huge fucking meme

>have this one
>feels most comfortable to hold the left side with index at the shoulder buttons and the rest gripping under
>doing this puts pressure on my middle finger and literally causes a sore to swell
>trying to hold it any other way makes my motions on the d-pad feel less precise

Do Nintendo shills post here? Somebody posted the Wii U pad earlier in the thread and I can't stand that controller.

Any one made by Nintendo and Sega before 2010
That one was shit as fuck

I'm not a shill, but like I said , it's just genuinely the best third party controller I've ever owned. I grew up with Dualshock controllers, and wanted something with a similar layout for my PC. So I got the SN30 Pro+ and have been loving it.

Pokken controller is mad comfy and has same Hori D-pad.

These are good controllers but they're far from the best. The d-pads suffer from the same oversensitivity as Switch Pro Controllers.

Sega Nomad delicious
i could lay in bed watch hentai and play wind waker.

yes, an arcade stick

why do people like the wiiu gamepad controller and hate the switch pro dpad when they are exatly the same, flaws and all?

no... button layout/size is shit; too awkward to do grab and overhead commands. Dpad has too much deadzone.

I agree with you about the buttons. Also, the controller was extremely light compared to the cord, which made it feel really awkward.
But that D-pad is the best I've ever felt. Not just the subtle clicky feel, but also the material they padded it with. It wasn't rubber, but it wasn't matte plastic. It was somewhere in between and it felt amazing. I wish I knew what it was.

is it good for fighting games tho? I kinda want another controller for misc stuff, but also want it to play fightan games, and I play pad mostly. I like that disc shit, but iunno how good it is.

It's great IMO. I use it for Street Fighter 3 and Skullgirls, but if you want a great all-around controller and want to experience this, I recommend waiting a bit until this November when this controller comes out...

They are putting that d-pad on the standard wireless plus a share button. Better to pay 50 than 150 USD right?

It's definitely the best original Xbox option, I love this controller myself.

I was going to post this. I'm madly in love with this controller, it has both the best dpad and buttons of any controller I have ever owned

everyone should own it, especially SNESfags for long play sessions.

Great dpad, feels nice in the hands. The build quality is absolute trash for a controller that expensive, though. Grips peel off and stick drift, stuck shoulder buttons galore.
