How true is this?
How true is this?
I'm 18 and think ocarina of time is the greatest video game ever made.
Started playing vidya with the SNES in the mid 90s and I fucking hate older NES games even more than the shit that gets pushed out today.
that's because you're a fucking retarded child who can't yet think for yourself and just parrot the popular opinion
BASED
>he thinks I'm actually 18
haha baited I'm a 32 year old virgin
Depends entirely on the person. As much as I like the games I played growing up, I realize now that some of them aren't that great anymore. Meanwhile there are new games even from this year that I like more than some of the old ones.
proves my point
Close
Its not when you started, but when you really got into it that counts. I played a fair bit of NES and SNES/genesis but it was super casual. Then the N64 happened, I got really into gaming & from there I fit the chart perfectly.
So what video game do you like mr know it all
Objective quality does exist though. I think Nier Automata, Path of Exile & Hollow Knight hold up compared to the glory N64/PS1 classics.
When will Zig Forums realize that talking about how good video games were in your day is the internet equivalent to a 45-year-old used car salesman talking about how good he was at football in college
>all my old n64 games are starting to physically turn brown, the cartridges and the gameplay itself
what do i do bros
Is not.
I started gaming around 2005 and 7th gen was ass.
I went back and played some games from when I first started and they fucking sucked so in my experience it's not true at all
I like Chrono Trigger and BlazBlue
what does this mean
Was born in 94
Played Deus Ex for the first time ever around 2014, it's one of my favourite video games ever.
Played System Shock 2 around 2015/16, absolutely loved it. Bioshock is a fucking joke in comparison.
Played terranigma some time in 2017, it's my favourite RPG.
Played Morrowind for the first time this year. It sucks but is still leagues better than Oblivion (which I played as a teen) and Skyrim.
From personal experience your theory doesn't hold up.
>brown
This is true for people who don't take games too seriously, don't pay much attention to details and in some cases are not very smart.
In the case of people who really like games as a hobby, the release date is irrelevant.
This
At least we can all agree 5th gen was the worst, right?
>Objective quality does exist though.
We'd all love to hear the definition of quality.
I can still play video games that were good in my day.
well im a gay retard
>think PS1/late 90’s PC era games are the best
>also think PS2/early 00’s games are great
>everything after 2007 is shit
You are correct but this isn’t even just my opinion. There was a hard, steep drop in quality video games when the HD era came around.
yeah and if you claim they're as good as you remember, you're lying to yourself
I’m 29 and I think OoT (and Zelda in general) is the most overrated shit ever. Only the Oracle games and aLttP were good. No idea why people froth over Zelda so hard, especially the 3D ones.
completely wrong, the games I played as a little child are obsolete in every regard.
shit taste kill yourself unironically
That's a "depressed adult with nostalgia goggles" chart.
Ocarina of Time in particular is not a very good game.
Combat is just bad and reserved for rare occasions, since most enemies do not require Link to actually engage in battle. And when you need to engage, there is simply no strategy. It is a braindead and bland battle.
The exploration is decent at times, but it is not very noteworthy.
The story is generic.
You visit cities and there is nothing, there is no lore, there are no NPCs with well-defined roles, nothing. In fact, there is only one place in the game that can be considered "city" and that is Kakariko Village. The rest is shit (the Goron's city is an empty place with a giant vase in the center).
I played the game on the release date and although I enjoyed the experience, I had already noticed all these problems and I never even imagined that Ocarina of Time was the "best game of all time".
Only those who are unable to analyze a game for what it is have this opinion, because they confuse the whole culture that has developed about the game, people's feelings, nostalgia, etc, with the fucking game.
i grew up in 3rd gen. 6th gen games are my favorite.
no. it had a lot of memorable games. they're just hard to play now.
Did an actual retard type this post? How could you be this blatantly wrong about almost every facet of the game?
I’m completely okay with people saying OoT is the most influential or most important game of all time, I mean I personally disagree with you but it was undeniable an impactful game. And at the time it was simply the best 3D adventure game out there. But when people say in 2020 especially those who weren’t even alive when it was released, that it’s still to this day the best game ever made like nigga get fucking real it was surpassed only a few years after it was made
