Wow, how much more realistic can games get?

I'm really amazed at how awesome this game was when I first played it, so I thought I'd wheel my grandfather into the room who was actually there on D-Day, and it must've triggered some kind of flashback or something because he kept weeping and even tried to launch himself off of his wheelchair because he didn't want to see anymore of it.

Anyway, have we hit a plateau of sorts in terms of graphics in video games? I can see them getting a LITTLE more realistic, but damn if some of these games, including the one I'm referring to in this post aren't pretty much as realistic as it can get. Where do we go from here?

i feel like this was taken from reddit but im not going to bother checking it.

No it's real. I just downloaded this game today since it's one of the new free games available on ps plus. I don't even know how to use reddit. Don't you have to make a profile or something?

the cutscene graphics are nice.
that's about it.
it's the classic cod rail shooter game I loathe and enjoy at the same time

>playing as the villains
>realistic

i dumped alot of hours into the multiplayer on steam, but it has no players anymore which makes me sad

>have we hit a plateau of sorts in terms of graphics in video games
there are always improvements that can be made, but in general we hit the cap a long time ago
that's why a lot of people are disappointed that next gen consoles (or even current ones for that matter) are still struggling with massive load times and being stuck in 30 fps since those are the types of things that can still be significantly improved

How do you play as "villains?"

I got this game for free and I was pretty sure I played trough it, but I had to check a youtube video of the campaign mode to confirm I had seen it. The story was about as exiting as trying to move a whole ant nest two meters uphill using tweezers. Gameplay is cookie cutter fps with the same mechanics we have seen since MoH on ps2.
The only fun part is the zombie mode, but the maps are way worse than BLOPS so there is no reason to play this game over that. Multiplayer I did not even bother to try because of the loot box system. There is no saving grace for this piece of shit.

Wtf, what else did your gramps say?

There's games with better graphics than this

I don't give a shit, I just wheeled him back to his room and let his live in nurse deal with it.

Cope, your Gramps never saw the frontline

I still find this to be a LARP, regardless of data. Most World War II veterans I've seen died years ago.

He was actually a German soldier. Nobody outside of my circle of friends and family ever believes me when I tell them that. Whatever. It's the truth, take it or leave it.

He was some king of communications or radio operator. He didn't participate in combat, but did see a lot of shit I guess.

>He didn't participate in combat
So I was right, he did the background work back at base and practically saw zero violence, makes me wonder why he would have PTSD if under your own admission, he never actually fought.

He's 95 born in 1925. He was a german soldier. I know, whenever I talk or have talked about it on other forums and boards I always get the same accusations, that I'm lying. I stopped caring a long time ago. I don't even have any proof because he was a POW and wasn't able to bring any memorabilia to the US. He wasn't a war criminal or anything, he was just some kind of communications "expert" or some shit.

>why he would have PTSD

I don't know, maybe he doesn't. He rarely ever talked about the war and just worked odd jobs when he was able to become a resident in the states. I know he saw some shit though.

How can he be a pow if he wasn't on combat?
The only pow Germans were the ones taken by the Soviets after they invaded Stalingrad

You just said he had a mental breakdown after watching a video game, sounds like PTSD to me

haha bro, nice one, give that boomer some fuckin' n ightmares haha

we should all stand arround him and shout NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE

....He was a soldier serving on the losing side during a war?.. Dude I don't know. They did take him in and put him in a prison though. He wasn't infantry but I'm sure he still had a gun and basic training on how to kill. They don't just let those guys walk free. Would you?

I don't get why people ever say this.

Video game graphics are barely at Toy Story quality, let alone the recent Lion King. Graphics can get so much better.

Kids were saying this shit playing Genesis NBA JAM

Not a boomer idiot.

Anyway this thread derailed from what I first intended to talk about. I should've left my grandfather out of the original post.

>graphics are barely at Toy Story quality

ok

Graphics in movies is not possible for video games as they spend days rendering it, a console or PC has to do it immediately

Okie then

What do you liek about Call of Duty WW2?

Also why would you show your Grandfather the cruel truth of Americans turning his suffering into gory entertainment for children?

Hmm. That sounds too technical.for me. You sure?

I've tried the multiplayer and what the fuck? it looks like a fucking mess
like 90% of the time people get killed by someone they never had a chance to even see, in war modes jesus you can't even tell what's going on
people literally throw random grenades and get kills
and why the fuck are automatic weapons that strong compared to semi-auto
optical sights? in WW2? wtf
