funny how you say that when Valorant is a product of the casualization of shooters by adopting ASSFAGGOTS elements to make the games less about individual skill and more about utilizing a characters abilities

The abilities feel like something demanded from the top down and the devs just had to deal with. Most are just grenades but easier to use which on its own would be okay. if they were smart it could have given rise to some fun new types that are a bit too fantastical for CS. But the ults, wall hacks and other stuff hurt the game design a lot. Just look at the maps, they are all very square, filled with boxes and next to no line of sight out of a room. Which is a necessity cause you can wall hack then Q to win.

They aren't useless but the potential strength meant the design had to be hampered in many areas to accommodate. These ideas could be balanced better, if Riot was willing to let fans get more involved you'd likely already be seeing better maps.

It's like an Americanized version of CS. More colors, more diversity, more corporate involvement, more artificial hype through advertising, more flashy and spectacular but ultimately more shallow and has major underlying issues

I played it yesterday and am at work now. Thought that matchmaking balance would be shit at launch due to how many people are playing, but it was surprisingly good.
