The first game was really big at my middle school. Why didn't they make more of them?

It need to comeback.
But there are three? I loved all of them and hope they'll make another, if I remember correctly the last one ended in a huge cliffhanger.
I'd rather see a reboot of the series.
>if I remember correctly the last one ended in a huge cliffhanger.
correct but the rest of the game was shit so nobody cares
They made a third one and it sucked and flopped.
Of course it sucked. Having the children of the old protagonists as protagonists is a retarded idea. I can literally not think a single instance where this concept ever worked - even in Dragonball it flopped.
Better would have been totally new heroes 1000 year later or even better, 1000 years earlier.
>look online to see what other people thought about comfy rpgkino
>see people getting filtered by GS
story about the need to and to actual seal alchemy could have been great
I remember playing it hidden in the bathroom in middle school, it was insane
that's not even remotely the cause of its failure
the first one was a generic soulless jrpg with unbelievable graphics and artistic direction for the console it was on. It was fake 3d and had advanced shit like slowmotion or close cuts
The sequels were super bland artistically mediocre jrpgs, it only received two sequels for how incredible the first was
>Having the children of the old protagonists as protagonists is a retarded idea. I can literally not think a single instance where this concept ever worked
Boruto
Otherwise, yes, shitty trope
Djinns were quite annoying system, especially collecting them without any use of guides and actually it wasn't well explained how does it work. Besides some of the puzzles were pretty hard to figure out, as some mechanics weren't explained at all (if I remember well, e.g. were vines growth thingy, which You actually can't get I believe when You have mono-djinn combination in character, as nobody got this skill anyway and it's used outside battle, which is another thing You most likely wouldn't be aware of.
Back in my day it would be like Pokemon Red/Blue and it's still popular to date I believe (but it's trash now).
>tfw no more golden sun games
>tfw no more advance wars games
>tfw still no pikmin game
why are my favorite franchises so fucked?
>Boruto
>worked
>Djinns were quite annoying system, especially collecting them without any use of guides and actually it wasn't well explained how does it work.

ESL?
Every puzzle in the game has a very simple intro puzzle that serves as a tutorial.
>Why didn't they make more of them?
Because the games didn't sell well afterwards. The stories also have terrible writing. And because the writing is shit? The characters are bigger garbage than even the Kingdom Hearts characters. None of the characters are marketable.
In fact, other failure Nintendo series are still beloved despite sequels being trash that sells horribly because people like the characters. Star Fox is a good case of this which is why it's easy to see Star Fox being given another chance in the future. There is absolutely nothing to salvage in Golden Sun. And much like Earthbound, the creators for Golden Sun straight up don't feel like making RPGs anymore either. They're sticking to what they know and it's Mario Sports games that sell much better than this failure JRPG.
I care.
I want to see Adult Jenna and Felix's Daughter
>actually it wasn't well explained how does it work
>first game does like a ten minute forced tutorial that progresses at a snail's pace to explain the Djinn system
Are you a game journalist?
There's a rebalance mod for the first two games which is quite excellent and emphasizes stat buffs/debuffs and class switching.
mega.nz
Also this guy made a clean version of the soundtrack without GBA compression artifacts.

I can't remember if it's skippable. I'm almost positive it is. If it is he may have skipped it
no it wasn't
The one in TLA is, but I'm pretty sure it isn't skippable in the first game
then idk, he's just a tard
Effectively 2. Third came way too late, it lost the soul by then. And now that's the excuse to not make any more.
Golden Sun is anything but soulless. Don't be retarded.
Did it need a rebalance mod? It seemed okay?
I mean shit like poison was broken but only in the player's favor.
>replayed the games recently
>dreading the Dullahan fight
>rush him with summons
>lvl 35, yet kill him in 4 turns
Man Golden Sun is easy as fuck. How did I struggle with this game before?
>how am i supposed to know that growth makes vines grow??
>even though the djinn tutorial tells you that changing djinns give you different psynergy
>even though the djinn tutorial also shows that giving garet a venus djinn gives him growth
Of course, the sequel assumed you played the first game and only kept the tutorial for those who might've forgotten. is a legit game journalist.
Fuck meant to click . I am legit retard.
I like puzzles in games and I like things being hard to figure out.
I think the biggest problem with djinn is they were missable too often for how powerful they are. Just let me go back and catch them all.
How the fuck did you get to lv 35. You're like 20-when you beat the game. Just how much did you grind?
Modern Nintendo is just not made for pre-Wii era fans.
First time playing the game, I have 40 hours on it right now because I'm stuck on the gladiator part. No Djin run, I currently grinding until I reach level 40 so I can one shot the fucks. Currently lvl 35
>golden sun
>soulless
Golden Sun was an absolute kino rpg experience. The class system was fun. The collect all X system lead to more class options across your characters and more powerful attacks. The combat was standard turn based, but looked beautiful on the gameboy advanced. The puzzles were better than any zelda dungeon in the past 20 years. Even the story in the first two was good.
I was trying to 100% the game and spent too much time grinding for a couple of weapons. Believe it or not I went upto lvl 99 when the game first released. Killed more wonder birds than you can fathom.
>You're like 20-when you beat the game
I always finished at 38-something with the exp from the twin dragon.
No grinding, just killing everything.
Golden Sun and TLA are soulful as fuck. The third one is garbage tho.
The one thing that I don't understand is why the magic system and puzzle interactions were not ever copied and used in other games. Its what made Golden Sun for me. But I've yet to find a game that does anything even remotely similar.
Why over level to try to 1 shot everything? Just ruins the combat.
Dark Dawn was a fucking mess that doubled down on the worst aspects of the originals while making no significant improvements. The sheer amount of inane, repetitive dialogue that could be summed up in 3 or 4 lines but instead drags on for fucking ever is staggering. The originals weren't great about that either, but they're masterpieces in comparison.
an enhanced edition was/is planned, source: my ass
>the first one was a generic soulless jrpg
Fight me irl you nigger
