I downloaded Cartagra (and Kara no Shojo) after anons recommended both a few days ago and I've not been this satisfied with a VN in quite some time. Post-war Japan is capital T H E shit and the story is gripping as fuck. I can't believe Cartagra came out 15 years ago, I could sing endless praises for it. I feel like my entire life has been one big build-up to reading this VN - that's how much I love it so far.
It's not like Closing Chapter will ever be adapted, so I'm gonna dive right in.
I'm thinking about picking up SakuSaku. I had just entered Yuuri's route when I dropped it. What other routes should I do? The shortstack seems like she'll be boring.
Sex with Yukiko!
Don't do it.
You'll end with a bad ending.
Why is sex a bad thing?
Because she is planning to murder your sister ;)
>playing a VISUAL NOVEL
visual novels are video game
I was kinda let down by Cartagra, but it has its moments, but Kara no Shoujo is pretty great I also got hooked because of the post WW2 Japan setting, it was the VN that show me that VNs could be something more than a porn game to see the H CGs.
Visuals novels can have gameplay elements
but most of the time (like the one in the OP) they're just interactive books
Visual Novel as a term doesn't even exist in Japan.
They are a form of adventure games there.
I've been re-reading Arcueid's route from Tsukihime, Tsukihime is my fav T-M VN so I wanted to give it a re-read I don't know if I'll read the rest but I'm planing to at least finish Arcueid's.
>Visuals novels can have gameplay elements
Ever played Sakura Wars?
The term does exists in Japan, Leaf released some games under that name. So the term exists but its not widely used as much as Adventure game or Galge.
>Sakura Wars
Gotta post this user

Would you read a VN like this?
I once had this bizarre idea for a Fate-inspired piece of fiction. I don't know what story I’d exactly tell with it, but the general concepts are kind of cool, at least to me
>Warrior characters inspired by historical/mythological stuff fight monsters from another dimension and do cool/fun stuff in their downtime
>They also all wear casual clothing with armor and weapons strapped to it
>PLOT TWIST: These "Warriors" are actually corpses bought back via cybernetics and magic. Plus, they all have some serious hang ups
>Our protagonist is one of these "Warriors." And he's what happens when bringing the "Warrior" into existence goes TOO well, as he's basically an autistic killing machine who's legitimately afraid of doing anything that isn't MURDER.
I'm playing Steins;Gate 0 and just stopped at the beginnjng of Gehann's Stigma
I've not reached an ending yet, haven't looked up a route map. Is this shit going somewhere anything soon?
Eh the good moments of 0 are weird, they're here and there but its not like in the original S;G where you knew when the real shit starts happening, 0 has several pace problems.
I've added a flowchart, look at it if you're lost, it helped me when I was playing 0.
Started Higanbana last night, it seems pretty good. If I like it I'll play Umineko later.
If you like the horror elements of Higanbana then give Higurashi a try (If you haven't) it does the horror and atmosphere stuff better in my opinion, but Umineko also has some really good and cool intense and horror like moments but in general not as much as Higu.
I've finished Higurashi's anime recently and I really liked it. I guess the VN is even better, but I'm not feeling like watching the same plot again. That's why I decided to start with Higanbana, and then try with Umineko (which many people say it's the best).
Aww sad, I personally don't like the anime, when some time passes and you get in the mood for some Higurashi make sure to give the VN a try.
>and then try with Umineko (which many people say it's the best).
There are a lot of Umineko fanboys, that threat that game like a cult or something, I personally like it (it was my first WTC game so I hold it pretty dear to me), but I preffer Higurashi over it...still I would say that there's no "best" When They Cry/07thExpansion game all of them are on a similar level in my opinion. Just enjoy your reading and don't bother thinking "this is the best" enjoy your time.
Thanks user, I'll do that
>reading MTL
Why do you hate yourself?
I've been reading Shuffle! 2 and so far it's really just a straight up upgrade from the first one. Basically a rewritten Shuffle! that doesn't suck with some role reversals and what-not. Really liking it so far but the similarities are a bit overbearing.
It's been like 3 weeks since proto-ddlc finally got translated and everyone's already stopped talking about it..
But her sex scene looks hot.
Come on bro.
You don't want to hurt her feelings.
I doubt it can be worse than her freezing to death in KnS1.
Jesus, I got that ending about 10 times before I figured out what I missed.
The investigation feature in KNS is crap.
