Unsure of the weapons since they seem like they should stay for the abilities, but given that they each confer a permenant skill now, adding too many over time would cause big menu bloat.

I've yet to hear an actual defense for Remake that isn't clearly coming from an Advent Children fan who simply watched a FFVII summary video on youtube.

I'm 30 and played the original on PS1 back in the day and I liked the remake. Obviously its not perfect but it was still fun.

To be absolutely honest I found out about FFVII originally thanks to AC, but then I played the OG, after that some Crisis Core shenanigans, and now the Remake.
I went through the whole baptism process, but in zigzag manner, and I love the Remake.

I'm at the last set of sidequests before the Shinra Building and I just DON'T CARE. I want to finish the game but the completionist autist in me won't let me not do the sidequests and I just fucking don't care about them at all and can't force myself to do them.

It's pretty simple. It's fans who would have liked it regardless, but were blown away by the characters and serviceable combat. They didn't notice any of the bad things, because SE knew damn well what things people would pay attention to.

I don't mind the turks being fun or funny but they've been so defanged there's not even any point to them anymore. They're desperate to make Reno a "bad boy" who isn't even bad. His character is a mess. They'll kill 50,000 innocent people but be shown to feel SLIGHTLY bad about it so you can still think they're good guys in advent children. It's fucking stupid but of course you can't ask weebs and 14 year olds to expect better writing than this.
