Just beat this.
It was alright 7/10.
Are the sequels any good?
Just beat this
They're all around better.
Only thing I like the most in S1 is the OST, but they're not bad at all in sequels either.
2 is the absolute best.
3 is about the same as the first, just with more variety.
They're both good. 1 is definitely the odd one out of the three, it's debatable if it makes it the superior or inferior game compared to the sequels though.
2 is way better.
3 is better but depends more if you enjoy the different playstyles.
Heroes' Tail is good but gets even more bogged down by alternate playstyles.
Ignore the rest.
It depends
1 is the most pure one, and that's a bad thing because it's boring as shit
2 and 3 have shitloads of gimmicky minigames, but that's honestly what made them so good. Also, the levels themselves, while "worse" according to spyro 1 fags, they're still a lot more comfy
Just play them all dammit.
Spyro 1 is my personal favourite, but 2 and 3 seem to be more widely accepted as the better games.
I personally just have the most nostalgia for 1 as its the one I played more as a kid
They both have more gameplay variety with mini games and alternate characters (in 3 only)
Overall, all worth a play, if you enjoyed 1 give them a go, you might like them more
1 is the best one
I didn't like the 2nd game after playing the 1st. 1st one was way more open and levels didn't feel so boxed in small spaces. I'd say 1st is my favourite of them all.
2 is the best gameplay wise
1 has the best soundtrack
3 is okay but i find the minigames especially skating and the playable characters to be shit Some of them control terribly like Sgt Byrd
All three games are very different in way, but also very similar in others, there are legitimate reasons for anyone to prefer one over the others. For example I prefer the themed levels of 2 and 3 over the samey (to me) ones in 1, but I also recognize if someone likes the consistency and depth with which the setting was explored.
2 is definitely different from 1, but really good in it's own ways. 3 is much more similar to 2 and also very good. They're all very good
First is peak atmosphere, sound and design.
2 is more varied and competent gameplay wise.
3 is 2 with even less soul and more gimmick,
4 is just trash.
What the fuck? Spyro 2 is a fucking mini game grind festival.
Much better.
1 is by far the best. Best levels, best atmosphere, best music. The others are just bloated messes with inferior level design all around.
The sequels make 1 bland as fuck by comparison.
i liked 3 the most as a kid, but i have only replayed 1 and 2 during my adult life and i have a feeling i might now like 3 so much now
same with crash, as a kid i thought 3 was best but now i think that 2 is the best and 3 has too many gimmick levels
I stand by that Crash 3 has probably my favouirte standard levels in the series, but the other levels for the most part do bring the game down (fuck those water levels)
It follows the same pattern as every PS mascot platfomer
>Rough, but promising first game
>Perfect second game that is an expansion of the first game
>Third game tries to shake up the formula with gimmick shit
>Gets sold to retards/incompetent devs with no idea what to do with the franchise take over afterwards
Spyro 2 is full of gimmicky crap too. Some of the orb challenges are really bad.
Spyro is literally 3D platformer for babies.
Not anymore so than the first game, which had its own fair share of dumb shit, like all the speedway jump puzzles. Spyro 2 may have had some unorthodox minigames, but most of it was still using the same basic Spyro mechanics without getting into skateboard/animal partner/Sparx shit that controlled completely differently
hi brad from 4playerpodcast, go back to yelling at your chaters.
The only one who felt bad to control was Agent 9 who was basically Proto Ratchet and Sgt Byrd with all the flying and picking up missiles to drop on vases gimmick. I liked skateboarding and smashing Rhynocs as Shiela or Bently. Sparx just felt like a homage to old 2D arcade games.
Pretty much all the Bentley sections except his intro level were bad too. That boxing minigame was really bad since everything except basic jab had too much windup, and Bentley controlled too stiffly for the dumb whack a mole thing
All 3 of them are solid games with their own merit. My personal favorite is Spyro 3, which I feel has the most content out of the trilogy. 2 is really comfy but I have more fun gathering the eggs in 3 than the orbs in 2. And 1 feels foreign to the other two (if you play it last) but also still a fantastic game. They are all worth playing so if you liked 1, definitely check the other two out.
Also 3 has a comfy super bonus round at the end.
Bentley sadly felt like they didn't really know what to do with him after they added him into the game. Which is a shame because he's got a great design, but terrible overall gameplay.
OP the sequels are good, just for different reasons. If you like the more atmospheric aspects of 1, you won't like 2 or 3. Those go harder on the adventure aspect, more about the journey than exploration like the first. Very much good games in their own right, but they do things differently for sure.
>spyro 1 fags
Stop doing this dude. It's not even funny.
>That boxing minigame was really bad since everything except basic jab had too much windup, and Bentley controlled too stiffly for the dumb whack a mole thing
He also that little China section where he was his own guy, but yeah the boxing and mole challenges were shit.
Reignited makes both of them 10x worse.
2 is soulless. 3 is a bit better but I couldn’t be assessed to beat it.
This is literally what Crash Bandicoot did.
6/10 is alright.
The PS2 Spyros are the best.
Are you high? Spyro 1 is as bullshit-free as a game can be. There is nothing in the way of exploring and collecting stuff in that game, with the possible exception of the flight levels that play differently. No NPC you have to escort/wait for, no gated progression of any kind within levels, etc.
You can still appreciate the atmosphere of 2 and 3, they are both still super comfy. 1 is kino for sure but I don't think you should discourage anons from playing the other two if the atmosphere was what they loved most about 1.
Just beat it for the first time via Reignited Trilogy and it was pretty alright. Fun the whole way through but I also felt like a bit of a zombie playing it, never being particularly excited.
One question though, how the fuck were you supposed to figure out the supercharge path for the final Tree Tops dragon without a guide? I swear I didn't see anything telegraphing what to do. Were you just supposed to die a million times through good ol' trial and error?
