James literally did nothing wrong

>I came looking for my wife that died 3 years ago because she sent me a letter
>Oh wait, she actually died like a week ago because I personally killed her, haha, awkward
>I am not crazy, I swear

Because he forgot that he killed his wife?

I don't think it was the town necessarily. I think he had a breakdown in the car while he was driving over to the town to kill himself with Mary's body. He had been under huge mental stress for a long time and killing his wife and then going on the drive to end it all was the breaking point for his sanity. I can't remember the exact details since I haven't played it in a while but the various numbers and details he mentions about his wife's illness hints at his repressing his memory, he's so far off the deep end that hes unconsciously deluding himself. For example at the beginning of the game he says that the disease killed Mary 3 years ago, but I think in a note you end up getting that's the duration of time the doctor gives for how much longer she had to live when she was diagnosed (something like that). I don't think the town itself made him forget anything, it was trying to make him remember.

Wasnt it the dog that did everything? The corgi in the control room.

In Silent Hill 1/3 canon it's Alessa/the cult

In Silent Hill 2 canon it is the dog yes

>based Guy Cihi refused to tolerate the Japanese's antics by refusing to record lines for the ending which shits all over the game's otherwise genuinely deep and insightful, introspective story, hence why the ending plays in Japanese even if you play with the language set to the default English

Everything that happens in the game is taking place in his head while he's staring into the mirror. It ends when he stops zoning out and decides on what he wants to do.

ok this is deep

I honestly think you should play these games for the moment-to-moment experience, not the plot. The plots aren't particularly good, but the direction is phenomenal.

let me guess you like SH3

SH1 akstually.

That’s wrong, he didn’t like the idea of the dog ending but he still did the voice over. He just spoke in Japanese

It's a fucking metaphor. Seriously, are you guys so god damn dumb that this concept has to be explained to you?

What?
How do you figure that out?

SH3 is my 2nd favourite behind SH1 but is wrong and dangerously low IQ. SH2's plot is unironically better than 90% of films (though I will concede that the plot for the other games is not nearly as Good, 3 has great characters tho)

Please do not generalise

You must have seen like five films in your life if you think that, four of them being Marvel movies.

>nooooooooooo games can´t have good plots because they are games!

Who are you quoting?

hes quoting john carmack, the joe biden of games

>SH2's plot is unironically better than 90% of films
Now that is some dangerously low IQ if not bait, holy shit.

you must have played like five games if you think silent hill 2 has a good plot.

Just out of curiosity, what do you consider a "good plot". In a game or even in a movie. Some examples would be nice.

>rip-off of Lost Highway
>better than 90% of films

Oh yeah Avengers has a much better plot

This nigga really thought Silent Hill 2 was deep, BTFO. Stay edgy cuh

SH3 is great - I like the continuation of the story from 1

I got the feeling i've been in this thread before.

sh1 is the most kino silent hill game because its about a chad going through literally everything he can to get his child back and it doesn't try too hard to be "deep"

>>rip-off of Lost Highway
So which cut-rate half-assed youtube videogame "authority" told you that?

silent hill 2 has interesting characters and setpieces that provide a good emotional backdrop
the story itself is pretty tenuous
pic related is a fully realized plot, sadly it only has one route out of three from the original.

Oh yeah, I live super hero movies that’s why I said it’s shit.

JB: I thought that SH2 was really brilliant in terms of it's plot. "Lost Highways" by David Lynch was a major inspiration for it. Unfortunately, it seemed that it was difficult for many players to really understand the plot. But those who did, were ultimately very rewarded with a deep, moving experience that is not common in games. Contrast it to the saccharine-quality of the MGS ending (which I also translated): "Let's live, Meryl!"...ha ha. SH3 tells a much more straightforward story, but I won't go into any details -sorry.

yeah and guy's a 5G truther now
