Such a useless pile of crap

Such a useless pile of crap

>Install New Vegas
>use Vortex
>Download about 30 mods, mostly minor texture packs and shit
>Game refuses to launch and is fucked beyond belief
>Completely wipe away New Vegas and Vortex and start from scratch
>Use NMM
>Same mod list
>Same load order
>Same everything
>It Just Works™

Why not just use Mod Organizer 2?

Step aside pissant, superior Mod Organizer coming through

Attached: chadmo.jpg (2233x1338, 359.53K)

You clearly are too retarded to use our piece of c-*ahem* fine exclusive mod manager app! you just have to git gud using it :))))))

Attached: vortex.png (1006x330, 46.21K)

The damn thing won't even scan for the games I have installed
Let alone install mods which say they are "enabled"
I'm relatively new to modding. Don't know what all these mod managers beyond installation
I just wanna play XCOM2 with a few quality of life changes
Why the fuck is that so difficult?

You need mod organizer for XCOM? Just download stuff off the workshop.

I've never had any issues with it.
I'm not an autistic sperg that puts 400 obviously incompatible mods in my game though.

I can't.
I pirated it.

I liked nexus mod manager, dont know exactly why they changed it to that pile of shit, use mod organizer 2, it's great

Me too, but I at least had the good sense to buy XCOM 2 before pirating War Of The Chosen so I could use the workshop. Try cs rin ru.

didn't they get the mod organizer guy to make this? how did it turn out so bad?

They overestimated the intelligence of the average nexus mods user.

I get why the features work as they do with loading before/after instead of just straight overwriting. It's still ridiculously annoying.

It's good for MHW because dedicated MHW mod manager is ded, it's also useful for Butterlord since you get notifications for mods updates.

Check out steamworkshop(dot)download

why the fuck would you ever use vortex you fucking mouthbreather

Vortex is great because I dont have to fuck around with extraction and moving around files and shit. I was able to install dozens of skyrim mods in less than 30 minutes. You probably thought you didn't have to read about mod compatibility and just clicked download didn't you? This is coming from someone who didn't mod games at all before Vortex.

Nexus Mod Manager did all those things without being a steaming pile of crap

>using vortex to mod skyrim

I have personal gripes with the UI. It's disgusting. Even the old NMM was more intuitive than this piece of crap. Popups with every mod or plugin you install, an ugly dashboard and sidebar.
Just give me something clean, fuckers.

no vortex is shit trust me mod organiser 2 is so much better as it doesn't mess around with the root folder too much

Use Mod Organizer.

>light theme

Oh I do. Used it even before Vortex came out, figured I'd give Vortex a go but fuck me, never again.

Just do manual intalls user, 90% of the time is "drop x in folder, activate and done"

>drop in folder
>anything at all goes wrong
>no way to recover because it replaced a million files and you have to completely reinstall

The only mods I have are clarity and a more enemies mod

It's a little confusing to use but it ain't bad. I didn't know I needed to deploy mods at first so I couldn't enable them. Also not entirely sure how to run skyrim script extender with it. I guess it was designed to work with several games.

>Vortex is great

it's a slippery slope user

Attached: skyrim mods2.png (1896x736, 129.22K)

holy shit how brain dead are you if you've EVER needed to use a downloader

>all those smashed patches
Fuck the mod limit.

how does it run texture mods and shit. does it use a different texture folder?

If there's one good thing that special edition actually did, it's the esl files.

>install a texture mod manually
>now there's literally no way to uninstall it beyond deleting every other texture and model mod
Great job genius.

hurrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Yeah, loose files for mods are just dumped in a big folder. They're sorted by the default folders, and not by mod, so there's no way to tell anything apart.
Some mod makers do use BSAs instead but it's so rare.

It's all right to admit that you're casual scum, user.

Texture mods don't have ESPs, retard.

i made my first nexus forums post ever on my 8 year old account, and it got permabanned for "swearing"

Attached: anime convention.jpg (576x768, 142.58K)

I don't actually know. I would assume it uses some kind of verion control or caching yeah.
Nothing you couldn't do manually but why do that when mod managers exist?

what are some essential new vegas mods

Vortex works fine on my machine. Automatically detects any issues, solves most of them automatically too and organizes the correct load order every time. Haven't had any issues outside of it conflicting with my firewall a couple times. What's the problem?

>NMM
I still have it installed. Works like a charm, shame that it doesnt support esl files (old version).

Bestiality mods

Based, my first permaban was from calling a mod shitty.

If it asks you to override then backup if something goes wrong
