What's the speedrunning scene like with this game? I saw a thread a night ago that some user posted, and the guy was breaking the game almost like the OG games. If this ever gets a 60fps patch then I'll be interested.

What is it about Jak you like? They felt kind of slow and boring to me.

J&D was a fun game, but Jak II and 3's on foot gameplay just seemed like a worse version of Ratchet's.

Not him, but Jak is one of the best platformers of all time. I loved the gameplay, the atmosphere, levels, etc. It's also a top tier speedrunnin game.

That shit is so much worse than the original and should be used more often by anti-remakefags as an argument against remakes. I'm fairly certain anyone praising that pile of shit just never even touched the original game.

Yeah it really wasn't that good. It had some cool guns in it, but it was weirdly short, it had some really shitty segments (who the FUCK ever wants running towards the camera chase sequences?), and the writing was just, trash. We went from this quirky snarky humour with innuendos to this incredibly dry and dull mary sue hero's journey game. It really cemented Insomniac as being talentless hacks compared to their former selves.

Replayed the original Ratchet trilogy recently, still fun. 2>3>1.

I wish they just made a sequel to Into The Nexus where Ratchet and Clank fight Tachyon and meet Angela again.

Yeah those discount Crash segments were out of place. Almost like an interactive load screen.

It was such a dated mechanic. Those types of segments weren't really fun when they were new, they were largely memory puzzles. Fuck I'm still mad they included that shit. It's like the ultimate of all movie game mechanics (as in, games made about movies, not like new ND games) that seemed to plague every bit of PS1 shovelware, and they went yeah, this is what our game needs. Fuck.

I'm trying to get the PS3 games working on RPCS3 properly. Am I in for good or bad?

Deadlocked is good, yes. It's more combat focused than the other ones, shorter with less variety, but it has some enjoyable gimmicks like the weapon modding system.
The co-op mode is the highlight, but it's still worth playing alone.

This was actually my first Ratchet and Clank game, I never had a PS2 or PS3 growing up. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but after watching that long critique video that showed all the things they changed from the original, I kinda feel like I've been scammed tbqh. As much as I hate the overruse of the words soul and soulless around here... this game was kinda soulless compared to the original.
