It can get a little tedious at time when battles get very large, but I had fun with it for a few weeks, I don't think I'd replay it

The rebalance mod is fun to fuck with in VC, but it has a pretty difficult mission where you're gonna be a the mercy of the enemy AI's choices. Beyond that mission somewhere near the middle of the game, you'll probably appreciate the difficulty it has to offer.

Although VC is a less chunkier game than VC4, it does have a great end-game that gives you some challenge. If you really enjoy VC, I recommend VC4 since it's literally just more of the same.

You can semi cheese Selvaria in that level by using smoke rounds, so provided you have a good set up she shouldn't even hit you

Its actually a good challenge initially since you have to level your soldiers to make them stronger, you can however get the better soldiers early by resetting a save if you don't like the first ones you're offered since they're sort of 'rolled' as you complete levels. There's a shock trooper i really like who's name I forget, he has some good perks and he also has the highest health in the game once he hits max level.

If you want a decent turn based strategy game, not really.

Should I finish VC4? I got bored halfway through the game, it's pretty much the same as VC1 but with worse characters and story.

Trust me the story just gets worse as you go along.

The entire series is fun except the spin off Valkyria Revolution. I even enjoyed the psp games even though 2 had a weird school setting story

Up to a point, sure. The point is when you realize you can just rush the enemy flag with a scout and win without firing a single shot.

I finished VC2 recently and what a piece of shit it is, VC3 is pretty good though.
