Has there ever been a bigger fall from grace?

Has there ever been a bigger fall from grace?

Yes, me in high school walking with a permanent Clint Eastwood grimace. I thought it made me cool, but in reality no one wanted to sit next to me.

Zoomers won't know this, but EA used to be good. Of course, you would need to go back to the 16-bit era.

This series went from a golden age of cranking out masterpiece after masterpiece to ripping off Assassin's Creed because they were out of ideas.

Nah, BotW was return to form.

Ass Creed games are now made like BotW.

It's an incestuous family tree at this point. BOTW has joined the crowd of homogenized open world games that rip each other off over and over, back and forth.

They at least handled the Bond license better than Activision. Low bar but Everything or Nothing is one of my favorites.

Is Konami pozzed too?, or why are you mad?

>[waiting for the fags who make the "every day until Metal Gear Rising 2 / Zone of the Ender 3" threads who unironically believe that Konami is secretly making a billion amazing revivals of all their franchises a la RE2R / DMC5 /AC7 and are behind retarded rumor shit like the Demon Edition or Sony's Silent Hill]

Thank kojima.

I just want Castlevania 5. Curse Of The Moon is about as close as we'll ever get.

I just want a new Gradius game. Is Treasure still around? They did am amazing job with V.

Probably not. Are they even working on anything at fucking all?

>I just want a new Gradius game

I'd rather have Parodius for some tits and ass. Or maybe Pop N TwinBee? Fuck Konami were good.

>I'd rather have Parodius for some tits and ass.
These days? Not going to happen.
You mean besides Pachinko?

no

uhh...
yu-gi-oh?

Dear God I forgot this shit even existed. What the fuck?

Konami is a cautionary tale of what happens when you treat your staff like shite.

So many classic vidya IPs shat down the pan...

Don't remind me of that.

You could say the same about literally any beloved long running franchise. At one point, a series goes to shit (like FF dor example).

Interplay ??
Acclaim??

Gee, maybe it's because they haven't made a good video game in five years? Everything has been PES, ports and Yugioh?

The pachinko jew is too strong

Except that guy is a shit poster. BotW was a long overdue course correction.

Activision's fall was just as bad. They used to be great during their beginning years.

Sony California.

Treasure is basically just a skeleton crew that only handles the licenses for republishing their old games. The dream is dead.

They were supposedly always like this too but it just got worse as the PS1 era ended.

How the fuck did Animal Crossing get so huge?

Oh fucking hell. Well who else could take Gradius from Konami besides maybe an indie dev?

I think you're right OP, oldfag here, but Konami knew their shit. Especially '90 stuff, practically everything was awesome. I will always have them Konami cathchy tunes stuck in my brain somewhere.
Particularly sad about Goemon and Suikoden stuff not getting re-runs now.

activision made people get hyped for fucking licensed games. that how good they used to be

LGBT. It's "comfy" and "wholesome." They can create their own little safe spaces with no conflict.

get

That is better than making trash, or becoming even more corrupt like other companies

Am I the only one who feels Konami has NEVER been that great? I like Castlevania, briefly was into Metal Gear (nowadays I see it as the horrible game franchise that popularized cinematic movie games as early as the PS1 while the writing only got more and more filled with stupid retcons). and Silent Hill never interested me in the least.

Besides that the only other series I have a soft spot for is Gambare Goemon. But that's it. Don't care about Rocket Knight or Suikoden. I just don't feel Konami was ever truly a great game developer at all, but I will give them some credit where its due because they also managed to make decent TMNT videogames. Still they no longer making anything doesn't impact me the same way that say seeing Capcom quitting on videogames. If Capcom quits for any reason? That would be a company many gamers will feel there's a black hole in the industry. For as horrible and greedy as Capcom is, their properties would be missed.

Nobody. Are there even any actual non-indie shoot'em ups released in Japan anymore? All I ever see is compilations of old games now.

Fuck off contrarian, Konami from the NES to the PS1 era was the undisputed king of 3rd party publishers along with Capcom.

Look on the bright side Konami's infamy automatically means that young fresh game creators will immediately AVOID working for Konami and will seek other companies, though to be fair Namco, Capcom, etc also have their horror stories. Probably Nintendo is less offensive to it's workers.
