That's the general consensus, but I hated it. I think the reason it's praised so much is because it was far darker than the two before it, appealing to first-timers who think edge is inherently positive to a story. That's a bit of a subjective take, but I'm sure nobody would want me to write another PhD on why Alternative was bad in a more factual sense.

This timeline is wrong. Alternative Takeru isn't combined from Unlimited endings, Unlimited was the same Takeru getting time looped repeatedly by Sumika because he didn't reach her until the final loop in Alternative. Kasumi explains this in the ending, that's why he's shocked and remembers that he really did love every girl.

Reminder that everything bad happened because Sumika was so jealous of losing in several timelines that an alternate universe version of herself was able to reach across a rift through space and time and latch onto that jealousy, which was all centered on the day that Meiya showed up because Sumika blames everything on that day regardless of who Takeru ends up with.
