I started Totono but holy fuck the beginning is an absolute slog, I hate all of these characters. Even the bro voiced by Hiyama isn't likeable.
I also read Majikoi A-3 and boy did the translation go to shit in that one, plus only Stacy's route was half decent.

Zig Forums shilled it and the premise seemed good, but the writing was god awful and the pacing and design of the routes were not put together very well

They do? I got the impression most play on console. The PC gaming scene in Japan has always been pretty minuscule and even now that Steam has finally become relevant there a lot of people still stick to consoles. Then again, I guess a lot of them are into the doujinsoft scene, especially Marine, so that might explain it.

This shit has been preached for too long that nobody knows what the truth is anymore. I believe Japan's PC market nowadays is not much worse than any other countries. They even have some hardcore PC shops there at akiba.
