The closest thing to me was playing through the Witcher trilogy
youre mom's three holes LOL
fuck, just IMAGINE a proper LOTR RPG following them though the entire journey, it would make the 50mi witcher sales look like a joke, I need it
user, IMAGINE, this breading age girl here is younger then LOTR movies, we don't know how much zoomer fans LOTR has and unfortunately any company would require that
also, Warner has the rights, Warner games are cancer
Dragon Age Origins for sure.
No vidja has that much adventure because vidja games are almost universally absolutely fucking trash garbage ass-butt shit at pacing, which is incredibly important for a good "Comfy" "Adventure" story.
>breading age
Any Soulsborne game. Also most Zeldas.
Witcher series is basically a better LOTR
lotro
BUILT FOR BIG BAGUETTES
Good one
wrong again user!
Final Fantasy.
I mean thats essentially what theyre doing with VII Remake isnt it? But even the other ones are all pretty grandiose save the world fantasy adventures.
Mass Effect
I'd say they were comparable in certain aspects. But ya know. The end and all that.
>Witcher series is basically a better LOTR
Retards don't actually believe this right? This is just a Friday shitpost devoid of creativity and wit right? Right?
Why the Two Towers and Return of the King hack and slash for PS2, of course.
I mean the 3rd one had the whole apocalypse Ragnarok thing going on which is kinda epic. But the rest of the games is more like a bounty hunter during a war. At least to me, not the same.
Botw
You might not like it but the real answer is any MMO pre-2008 or thereabouts.
Why is Gandalf on the second poster at all, let alone the most important figure? That's a massive fucking spoiler.
hell yea nigga
calm down there Mr Reddit
This, for me it was Lineage 2.
I remember playing on an unofficial server that was janky as fuck, you fell through the floor all the time and monsters literally never stopped chasing you if you attacked them, even if you ran for miles you could still see the monster slowly following you in the distance.
So much soul.

Any tales of game and most JRPGs
Witcher 3 being open world disrupts the sense of adventure, a true journey can only be achieved in a linear game. As for the other games, eh they are far from the most capturing of this sense of adventure.
So something like Dragon’s Dogma.
Good god that is nostalgic as fuck. I used to listen to this games OST on the official website. I was huge on the "adventure" of MMOs back in those days. I was playing Everquest at the time and always wanted to try L2 but couldn't ever get my parents to let me get / switch subs. Eventually I moved to FF11 and god damn what a game. For some reason that L2 music just sticks with me, and I never even played that game.
Still mad that Yoshi isn’t doing 16, what could have been...
Banner Saga trilogy
Almost nothing at all OP. LotR is the perfect trilogy. Netflix is about to fuck it up hard.
Witcher might be the closest thing.
I was gonna say the Witcher games as well, totally different flavor, but equally vast, deep and fulfilling.
