Star veil and cross necklace don't stack according to the wiki, replace the necklace with a charm of myths. You could also replace it with a brain of confusion and replace the shell with a master ninja gear, I think the autododge chance increases your effective HP a decent amount but I haven't tested it.

How do I git gud? Every time hard mode gets activated I keep getting my shit kicked in by bosses and invasions.

Don't fucking bother tanking damage in Master Mode. Every boss battle is a race where you need to out-damage things that can kill you in 1-3 hits. Throw that shit away, get ranger/mage, beat the game, forget about master mode forever. It's not worth it. Especially in melee's meme state. Brain suffers from jester's arrows, and skeletron can't keep up with your mobility if you have horizontal enough arena. 2-3 levels of platforms, dodge hands, then run in circles when he has no hands. Don't get me started on summoner, even Red hates this guy.

I know it sounds like alot of work but I was just gonna keep making the chest room taller as I get more shit while keeping duplicates to a minimum. Maybe not every single fucking block but just about everything my character sucks up

But it feels cheap to build an arena specific to counter each boss or use a cookie cutter build to counter each one. I try to stick to one playstyle unless it turns out to be ridiculously countered, like using melee agains the twins.

Comfy. Honestly seeing how much shit gets created gets me thinking how awesome the game could be if they let the community submit builds like these so that we could insert them into world gen.

while your advice on boss strats is solid, tanking on master actually feels unironically great. i just entered hm and while i'm struggling a bit with the early hm powerspike on master mode, i absolutely steamrolled through prehm as a full tank melee character with the exception of wall of flesh who was a huge pain in the ass and took at least 5 attempts

Master Mode is for autistic optimizers and takes those kind of players in consideration. If you're not willing to do that, play Expert.
