Why the fuck aren't blood vials refillable like estus flasks in dark souls? If I die to a boss more than twice I have to go farm for blood vials before i'm in a good position to fight it again. It makes the game so fucking grindy to play.
Why the fuck aren't blood vials refillable like estus flasks in dark souls...
dont die :^)
>there are people that actually needed to farm blood vials
how about you actually get better at video games?
uh have you considered "getting good"?
I remember just buying a bunch of blood vials my first time though and as I got better I didnt need to use them as much
>Farm for blood vials
This meme cracks me up every time. I think the only time I've ever been struggling for vials is at Ludwig, but luckily they put the respawning skinless dude right at the entrance who drops vials every time. Seriously though what the fuck are you playing at? You can literally buy vials. If you really are at fucking rock bottom and don't have any vials or souls, go parry some brick trolls.
They are pretty generous with the drops in the game it wasnt really a problem for me until I hit the deeper chalice dungeons
The only bosses that are hard enough to require vials are in the DLC or some of the late game ones like Logarius/Ebrietas. By that point you should have some of the later story chalice dungeons unlocked, where you can go in and slap 5 zombies to death and have enough echoes to buy 50 vials.
You get fucking 20 of them. It would be broken as fuck if they refilled to max all the time. I had 0 problems with this game because I very rarely died and my vials were always maxed out.

Best advice I can give is spend all cold-blooded you find on vials, especially early game while they're cheaper. I've beaten the game many times on various NG levels and that usually works.
Also, yes. The mechanic is bullshit. Not only should they not run out, they should also cap at 10. Maybe 2 runes could give 20 but Christ 20 is too much with rally.
>It would be broken as fuck if they refilled to max all the time
How would it be broken? You still get don't get to refill them unless you get to lantern?
It was just a lazy way of lengthening the playtime. Also, since the rpg mechanics are a lot simpler in Bloodborne they didn't have as many ideas for item drops for enemies, so blood vials could fill that gap.
Because it was an arbitrary change to make Bloodborne feel slightly different from Dark Souls.
Thankfully they realized it was a mistake and went back to flasks for Sekiro.
I would recommend just spending whatever blood echoes you have left after leveling up on vials. And don't bother with chalice dungeons, total waste of time.
Because 20 is waaaaay too much for any area or boss. You can get hit at every point and not die thanks to all that healing. Plus enemies drop vials so it's more like 30 or 40 in some areas. Ridiculous. Almost as bad as DeS. In Dark Souls you had 5, that's 5 hits or less.

You realize they go to your box or whatever when you have excess right? I didn't know this until late game and never ran out again
It's already broken as fuck to have 20. Obviously if they were refillable there would be fewer of them, which would be a better system. You are just proving OP's point really. Sekiro had a much tighter healing system, it did have a couple finite healing items but it was easy to run out of them.
The only place I had to farm for vials was Ludwig, that motherfucker was hard. But there was an enemy that dropped 5 vials right outside his room so didn't care.
Hell no, Sekiro forces you to explore to unlock healing items. It's very much possible to be fighting endgame bosses with like 2 or 3 sippy if you didn't cheat like everyone else and look up their locations in a guide.
Exploring the world and progressing in power is not even REMOTELY the same as grinding for vials in Bloodborne or grass in Demon's Souls. Do you even know what grinding is? It's doing the same thing over and over again. Exploring is just playing the goddamn video game.
U dont need vials to kill a boss
>NOOOOO THE GAME REWARDS EXPLORATION GIVE ME EVERYHING ON A HECKIN SILVER PLATTER
>ANYONE WITH 4 HEALS IS A WIKIFAGERINO
I don't know what grinding is, my lad. I've never needed it because I rarely get hit and run out of shit.
Fuck forced exploration. You won't even know you're under-healed unless you read it in a guide. You think the latter bosses were designed with no healing in mind? Fuck you, dumbass.
Farm the two hippos right outside the Hypogean Gaol, they drop about 6 vials each time.
>read it in a guide
Fuck off, I platinumed the game without a guide, the gourd seeds are easy to find unless you’re speed running.
>You think the latter bosses were designed with no healing in mind?
Nope, I think the devs designed the game to actually be played. Fuck off you ADHD Zoomer cunt.
>hippos
they also disappear after the blood moon.
That must've taken forever, but good work regardless. I've got other (better) games to play.
Wait, but a competent player might never even run out of vials. Even when someone runs out they'll usually just go and buy/grind for more. So you're saying the game is already broken most of the or all the time depending on the player.
>Fuck forced exploration.
We're getting to new levels of memery here. Exploration is one of the main appeals of the series you fuckin retard.
>dude why do I need to grind in the easiest soulsborne game wtf!!!!
They needed to pad out playtime somehow. Have you tried not dying?
Imagine needing blood vials when you literally get your health back with rally lmao
use cheat engine to cheat flasks
Think about it some more. It's too easy for experienced players and too punishing for newfags. It's the worst of both worlds.
Healing is kind of an iffy subject in general. Monster Hunter did it well but eventually fucked it up, BOTW totally fucked it up etc. I don't think it brings the game down too much despite being an obvious flaw.
