It's a niche fighting game on Steam.
The announcement for the PC release came out of nowhere, a lot of people had already preordered it on PS4 (though a lot of retards double-dipped).
And the game is really not that good to be honest. I expect it to be definitely deader than dead once Strive releases.

How did Corona fuck it over? It fucked over all offline events anyway. If anything, chances are Corona delayed the release of upcoming fighting games like Strive and SF6, and that will actually keep GBVS' "flavour of the month" status longer.

When you look at other games, including ones with bad netcode like T7 or SFV, they've actually done well out of corona. The numbers of online players are up.

The game just becomes boring really fast because the character have very little depth. Other games with actual good netcode are being released. No crossplay in 2020.
From my experience it's not much better on console.
