Within a Scooby Doo game made to promote the second live action movie of all places

I refuse to believe this shit isn't edited.
Then again it was the early 00's. Had this shit happened nowadays WB would already be in its third public apology.

There's actually a haunted garfield flashgame on the official site, as a kid i remember playing it and it has a jumpscare too, there's a puzzle with a painting and a mouse gives you a jumpscare. Its super fucked up too

posting the most recent one

Based N64 edge

That was just a placeholder texture until they cold get the real thing, but they forgot about it or deadlines forced them to put out the game before they could change it, I don't remember. Someone who worked on the game confirmed this. Still fucked up regardless

im guessing whoever was making the flash game wanted to vent. same as the racing with ryan thing

Love the shit out of accidental lore.

Fascinating that shit remained, and in turn, makes ya wonder what other games had before making it to retail

MGS1 had an in-game camera and if you took a picture in certain places, a ghost would appear in it. Now these "ghosts" are just pictures of the devs but I found one as a kid and it scared the fuck out of me, I didn't even have the internet to know if it was normal, legit lost sleep over it

This is the one I found at random btw

Turns out it was just the developers in house joke character that accidentally slipped into the game, they even posted some new angles of him too.

What's this?

What are some games that don't appear to be scary at first, but turn out to be extremely frightening by the end?

I guess you could say doki doki literature club but it's somewhat of a meme
thief 3 really blindsided some people with that famous orphanage/asylum stage
spec ops the line can do this if for some reason you still expect it to be a normal brown early century cover shooter

Endless Ocean 2.
The whole game.

Damn, any follow up to that pic?

Doki Doki is a case where the creepy twist was so obvious from the start as to make me jaded when I finally played it, only for the game to subvert that subversion by ending up genuinely heartwarming after the creepy shit.

How is the ending heartwarming? Can you tell me(I don't care about spoilers)?

Not that user but I'd play the game outright, it's pretty short and the ending if cute is only so in context.

Doki Doki actually works best already knowing its a stealth horror. That way you actually get paranoid about how things are going to go south during the first act.

Christ, I couldn't even imagine how to respond if someone approached me like that - Was it actually the guy's address?

Going through the Abyss always scared the shit out of me as a kid. The iceberg area where you can’t see the bottom was pretty spooky too.

Yeah I thought myself ready to be unimpressed and they turned that shit on me hard.

You don't confirm and you don't deny. Straight to the cops with the chat log. Never talk to that person again

Got my doubts this actually happened
